Marvin Rettenmaier wins WPT World Championship for almost $1,2 million!

Marvin Rettenmaier had a massive lead when the final table kicked off last Saturday, and even though the final table included so many good players very few thought that anyone would have a chance against Rettenmaier, who had played absolutely amazing poker the last 2 days of the tournament.

However, after many hours of play on the final table, Rettenmaier had made it to heads-up against Philippe Ktorza. Ktorza had the lead at this point and was playing very well, but it didn't take long before Rettenmaier won an all in with TT vs A4 and overtook the lead. And not long after he called Ktorza's all in with KK against JJ. The board ran out blank and Rettenmaier was awarded with almost $1,2 million for his amazing achievement.

Final table results:
1) Marvin Rettenmaier, $1 196 858
2) Philippe Ktorza, $805 310
3) Michael Mizrachi, $424 618
4) Nick Schulman, $256 235
5) Steve O'Dwyer, $192 176
6) Trevor Pope, $155 571

Nice take down.

Watched some of it live, Marvin was playing or thinking about playing juts about any two cards most of the time.

Dunno if thats his style or if it was due to his chip lead.

Marvin Rettenmaier had already a 3 to 1 advantage to Michael Mizrachi when the final table begun, so it would be very difficult to change this scenario. But Philippe Ktorza, who was with only 15 BBs when this final table started, must have played quite good poker to be able to play the final HU against Rettenmaier, he ended up being the main figure of the tourney, although placing 2nd.

well a 1.2 million payday is quite a good one, it looks like this dude played a solid tournament, being amongst the leaders most of the time, and when he finally became the chip leader he didn't back off from the action, pressed all the way and got rewarded very handsomely, good going marvin
