2012 has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride for the Finnish poker pro Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies. Winning hundreds of thousands of dollars one night - just to lose it+a bit more the very next day. That's nothing unusual at all when it comes to Ilari Sahamies's way of playing poker. Besides that, there have been a few times this year when Sahamies couldn't continue playing because he ran out of cash - something that has added fuel to the broke rumors.

However, the poker gods seem to have teamed up with Sahamies in the past few days as he keeps on taking down the big pots. In fact, thanks to a $367k winnings session on Saturday and a $500k profit in just under 600 hands yesterday, he is now finally up about $50,000 on PokerStars this year. Now it will be interesting to see if he can keep up the good game and maybe even become the biggest winner of 2012? Sahamies ended up as the biggest winner on PokerStars last year with a $2,183,832 profit - even though he had a nightmare start in the beginning of 2011 (just like this year). In other words, nothing is impossible in Ilari Sahamies' world.

So insane that even with 800k+ winnings he's only just broke even plus a little.

The dude just strikes me as undisciplined in his poker and this pattern will likely repeat.

50 k is really nothing when it come to Ilari, he could lose that in just a hand lol

Still i watched him a bit and it seems that his play improved a bit compared to what we saw at the beginning of the year.

He is just a degen. Fun to watch tho. When he is on he can completely crush a table. On youtube there is a cashgame "The game" with mostly players from Sweden and Finland, where he is in total control.

He has sessions where he loses like 300k in 40 hands or so .. so it's pretty normal for him to being broke all the times.. no discipline.

His irl image doesn't fools anyone anyways.. he has the looks of a degen and that's what he's.

Sahamies was losing almost one million because of his problem and he was able to recover already. Now we just have to see if he will be able to keep on this regist during the resto f the year, it only passed half of it by now, and the heat of the summer gives many the will to drink some beers…

I think i actually saw that session in which he lost around 300k in under 50 hands which was sick but then he played like a mad...

I mean he simply go all in or pot every hand, no matter of his strenght ot board cards Confused

Macubaas --> Just like people do when they tilit at 5c/10c or < Big Smile

I think Sahamies has a lot of skills. He's very agressive and I don't think there's a lot of people out there who would be willing to play him HU at PLO at his stakes. He just has to find a way to control his emotions, play more rationally and he will rebuild his roll.
