The High Roller (buy-in €10,000+€300) kicked off yesterday with 71 players (plus 14 €10k rebuys). There were a lot of familiar faces in the field: Eugene Katchalov, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (picture), Michael Tureniec, Steve O'Dwyer, Kevin MacPhee etc.
The first day came to an end during Level 9 (600/1200, ante 100) with Vladimir Troyanovski in front with 266,200 chips. Apart from Eugene Katchalov and Kevin MacPhee, all of the players mentioned above were among the approximately 15 players who didn't make it through the day.
The prize pool has not been announced yet, but if we calculate 71 players x €10,000 + 14 rebuys x €10,000 the prize pool should be €850,000. It will be interesting to see how big chunk of the prize pool the winner will get.
