Cada's Poker and Sports Grill in Sterling Heights has been closed down temporary. The owners, Jerry Cada (Joe's father) and Patrick Bernhardt, voluntarily closed the place while an investigation into its liquor license is under way.

Cada's Poker and Sports Grill opened in the former Roosevelt's Bar & Grill and applied for a liquor license transfer in October 2001. According to macombdaily, an investigation was completed, but the application was later amended in the summer of 2012. In September of last year, the file was "held for further commission consideration," records show.

Joe Cada (Wikipedia)
Joseph "Joe" Cada (born November 18, 1987) is an American professional poker player from Shelby Charter Township, Michigan, best known as the winner of the Main Event at the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP). By winning the 6,494-entrant Main Event at the age of 21, Cada surpassed Peter Eastgate as the youngest champion ever.

People and players from Sterling Heights have now less one place to go and enjoy the pleasures of gaming and food. Maybe this will be just temporary, while the investigation is running. Can Cada's name get some stains because of this? I don't think so, even more because the business is still in his father's name.

It sounds like it's just a temporary situation until the paperwork works it's way through the local bureaucracy. Hopefully they get all the t's crossed and i's dotted fairly quickly so that they can reopen quickly.

I'm sure that it's just a temporary shut down of the activity and it will be back pretty soon Smile

Be sure that such a popular poker place will continue to run even if changes in the administration or ownership will be made.
