In case you missed it, a unique event called WPT Monster Invitational took place last Sunday at Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. The invited players were Scotty Nguyen, Antonio Esfandiari, Tony Dunst, Vanessa Selbst, Phil Laak and David Williams.

The latter was probably the least known of the participants but that didn't stop him from winning the event and a prize package worth more than $80,000*!

William defeated Mr. Phil Laak heads-up. In the final hand, Laak moved all in for 460k, and Williams snap-called with AClub5Heart. Laak turned over QHeart9Diamond. The flop JHeart10Diamond6Heart gave Laak an open straight draw, but the remaining two cards - JSpade5Spade - sent his final chips to Williams. According to Hendon Mob, David Williams has won $8.6 million playing live tournaments. His biggest cash to date was a second place finish in the WSOP 2004 Main event for $3.5 million!

Results:
1st: David Williams
2nd: Phil Laak
3rd: Vanessa Selbst
4th: Antonio Esfandiari
5th: Tony Dunst
6th: Scotty Nguyen

* Prize packages included Monster 24k Headphones, a Hublot King Power Unico Watch, and entry into three upcoming WPT events - the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic, the WPT L.A. Poker Classic, and the WPT World Championship.

This would definitely be a great table to watch so I hope it will be on the TV at some point.
I am not sure who I would have put my money on at the start of the tournament but probably not on the winner even though he has some impressive winnings to his name.I like to see Antonio Esfandiari do well as he always entertains when he is at the table and Vanessa Selbst is very good and I like to see how the more experienced players cope when she is an aggressive mood.

Nice of him to win this tournament the field was hard and the last table that is the final table was tough we got at least one woman and i really hope Vanessa Selbst won it but happy with her performance so fun to watch people stare a woman playing poker lol . Anyway good final table not hitting your straight but that is poker and you cannot do anything about variance but just have a good bankroll and don't play games you cannot afford. Cheers i dream to play there one day but no discipline lol!

This may be defined as a micro field, but i am sure it gave David Willians a good idea of the difficulties that he will be facing on those next events he will be playing just with this prize.
