ESPT6 Barcelona: Final Table Is Set

Tags: ESPT6 Barcelona, Jonn Forst.

A record-breaking turnout of 3,292 players for the Estrella Barcelona Main Event (€1,000 + €100 buy-in; played concurrently with EPT Barcelona) generated a massive €3,193,240 prize pool!

The field has been narrowed down to just eight players in the past couple of days, and these survivors will return this afternoon and battle it out for some serious prize money, given that almost €1.39 million is still up from grabs.

Payout structure:

1st: €491,000
2nd: €256,500
3rd: €168,000
4th: €139,500
5th: €116,540
6th: €93,600
7th: €71,400
8th: €52,100

John Forst will be the chip leader when the cards are back in the air. The 31-year-old from Vienna, Austria became the chip leader late yesterday with 10 players remaining, calling a big bluff by Jose Carlos Garcia who was the chip leader at that point. Forst accumulated further chips thereafter and will enter today's final table with almost a third of the chips in play.

No matter what the poker gods have in stock for John Forst today, he is still guaranteed to take home the biggest payday of his live tournament career!

Final table seat draw:

Seat 1: Mario Lopez (Argentina) -- 14,410,000
Seat 2: Daniel Selles (Spain) -- 3,120,000
Seat 3: Jose Carlos Garcia (Poland) -- 8,855,000
Seat 4: Eduard Sanchez (Spain) -- 7,420,000
Seat 5: Knut Nystedt (Norway) -- 7,705,000
Seat 6: Simon Sennhauser (Switzerland) -- 13,490,000
Seat 7: Kondah Abdelhadi (Morocco) -- 2,895,000
Seat 8: Jonn Forst (Austria) - 24,090,000

took a peek @prizepool distribution and remembered why i hate mtt's- finish in 8th, beating 3283 players and you win 52k, finish 1st, beating almost the same amount of players: 3391 and you walk away with a cool half of million. i better stick with cash games,hu sng's, satellites, dons and even fcukin spin's for a bit more predictable monetary return.

Yup, it's totally uneven and that is why you should want to win da sh1t - not just arriving ITM.
Take it as a motivational tool.

Naaaaah, pochui is right, the last place in the money should at least be 100K, they can skim that of the 1st place finisher and he\she would still walk away with a smile on the face, its just not fair to 8th place finisher

i must go with bowie on this matter , what is the point for finishing first if the whole table already gets a big ass payout , you are in it to win it not in it just to make the money Cool

don't know any of them
it seems like a good tournament .. almost half a million euros for the winner
it is a great prize .. i am surprised to see only two players from Spain
since this tournament take place in Barcelona
about the discussion , the payout structure is fair in my opinion
that what make the 1st place finish so special than any other
