A week after the wedding of two poker professionals Jason and Natasha Mercier in Southern Florida, they both made it to the final four tables of the Seminole Hard Rock Rock ‘n' Roll Poker Open main event, a tournament with a buy-in of $3,500.
The event had a total of 760 entrants. The Mercier newlyweds were eliminated back-to-back, finishing in 35th and 36th place, for a prize of $11,430 each.
Jason Mercier, age 30, is an American poker pro from Hollywood Florida, and has won five WSOP bracelets and one European Poker Tour title. He's named WSOP player of the year this 2016. As of June 2016, his live tournament wins exceed $17,200,000. His 52 cashes at the WSOP account for over $4 million of those winnings.
Natasha (Barbour) Mercier, age 29, was born in Beirut, Lebanon and is a Tampa-based poker pro. Although she originally came to the country to study, she eventually transitioned into making a living playing cash games and tournaments. She has already accumulated $317,580 in lifetime tournament earnings. On August 28, 2016, she placed 23rd in the EPT 13 in Barcelona, Spain, winning €38,410 (or $43,315).
