Certainly not the first time ever that a poker player is showing off their other talents in certain areas, and this time it is on a promising comedy show related to poker and acting.
Where poker players go next after their gig in poker is just as interesting as where they've come from.
Douglas Kim was once named the youngest player ever to have reached a World Series Poker Main Event final table in 2006. Under his online moniker ‘technologic', Doug came 7th in the Main Event (it was Jamie Gold who won it), taking home $2,391,520.
After that, Doug wasn't too active in the live tourneys until in 2011 he bubbled the final table of the WPT Season X Borgata Poker Open, earning $148,848 as he got 7th place. Overall, he has $2.5 million in live tournament career earnings.
Douglas Kim, who is of Korean descent, was born in Yonkers, New York on November 10, 1983. It was two years after his WSOP Main Event escapade that he enrolled in a two-year acting program at the William Esper studio in his home state. He moved to Los Angeles after he graduated, where he is living to this day.
In 2016, Doug worked on a supernatural mystery ‘Room 731' movie as a production coordinator, which lasted only 16 minutes but got a nice 7.9 rating on IMDB.
He also tested the waters of the music industry, releasing a parody of the Jay-Z song ‘Young Forever', which is entitled ‘Forever Hyung'.
Now Doug has a TV sitcom, a semi-autobiographical comedy called Just Doug.
While he still plays poker, his real dream is actually acting, and he is starring in his own sitcom about his life which he himself has written. ‘Just Doug' appears to be a curb-your-enthusiasm style of comedy which shows scenarios based on real life experiences. Of course, the show stars Doug, playing himself, deciding after his win at the Main Event and move to LA to make his dream of being an actor come true.
Doug is hoping for the show to get picked up by a major TV station, and should that happen, he told his followers on the 2+2 forum that he will be hoping to explore the subject of poker in more depth.

probably it will be an interesting series ... I can not remember what a series about the poker game so it should be interesting ... the main thing is that with the implementation of this project it was all good .... I hope for an interesting preview and of course I will watch this series. .. interesting news
I like to read fhat this guy do some different things in his life, he was poker player, and maybe is still, and now he is a comedy acfir, and also in music industry, so he likes trying nw things and this is good for any person to do. Also he wins so much from poker, almost 2.5 millions, this is serious money
Never heard of him. Why i would ever want to see such a show. Everyone is trying to become a celebrity today. All the time you see someone with a camera on their hands, recording, uploading... sick.
I really do not care about the life of this poker player. I do not know what he is doing or has fun in his life. I'm interested for a good video about how he play poker online to learn some tricks of his if he wants to show us. I congratulate him for the winnings of live poker or online.

I have about the same story .... I've never heard of this player ..... of course I understand that my knowledge of poker is not very big but ...... but still it will be very interesting to watch the series about him .... more specifically about the poker game and about it including
well me neither have heard anything about him, and probably about 99.99% of other duded and dudettes in poker world, but that doesn't mean that this fella cannot make a good sitcom, no need to judge in advance... sure it can be major bs as well..

2006? Where was I? I guess I was in Santa Monica. So, was it 11 years ago when Douglas Kim made a final table appearence at the WSOP main event? I can't believe how fast time goes by. Life is so unpredictable and you never know what is coming.

I think this is very cool the players tell about their lives anyes of some very big achievement where you can change your life this beer of inspiration for other people to try to do the same and who knows how to change life tabem
