Byron Kaverman Leads $300,000 buy-in tournament at ARIA

The $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl is underway at ARIA in Las Vegas. 56 players entered the extremely expensive event and 44 players made it through to Day 2 (starts today), with 2015 GPI player of the year Byron Kaverman out in front with 1.2 million in chips or 4 times the starting stack.

Kaverman has a sizeable chip lead since King's Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik is his nearest competitor with 900k and German poker star Fedor Holz, who finished runner up in this event last year for $3.5 million, is in third place with 800k in chips.

"Today went pretty smooth, I got off to a pretty good start," Kaverman said. "I made a full house over full house against Cary (Katz) and just kind of coasted from there."

The remaining players are fighting for a massive $6,000,000 first-place prize, so make sure to check our news section tomorrow for another update!

Top 10 stacks:

1 Byron Kaverman 1,247,000
2 Leon Tsoukernik 912,000
3 Fedor Holz 803,000
4 Cary Katz 677,000
5 Jake Schindler 648,500

Looking at the list of names still in, this is going to be a long tournament because of the sheer quality of the players. Byron Kaverman plays well in a lot of these tournaments and it is no surprise to see him doing well again

yeah the name list is quite impressive, but no one really should be expecting anything different when we're talking about super high roller or just high roller events ... lots of poker pros trying to take money from rich businessmen and high under the table rollers...

So the pink hair dropped down and i see that negreanu is out.
My first choice would have been negreanu to win this.
My next favorite is mercier.
I dont know the stats of all the players (wins-prizes) but with 6 millions win tonight everyone will
be very happy.

Wow! I can see a number of notable players in the top ten chip stack list in the ongoing $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl. I will be sure to watch tournament replay when it becomes available online.
