Phil Hellmuth (left) & Doug Polk (right)The winner of the 2017 High Roller for One Drop victor Doug Polk shall be facing off against the world's all-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth for a massive $200,000 on the 4th week of August at the Rivers Casino located just outside of Albany, New York.

The King of the Hill poker tourney kicks off August 22 Tuesday at 3:30pm ET, featuring a buy-in of $50,000 each but with an irresistible championship prize of US$200,000! The tournament only has a total of four players overall, which begins with an inaugural round of heads-up poker matches that will also highlight Tennessee native Frank Kassela and veteran high-stakes rounder Dan "Jungleman" Cates.

The inaugural event is scheduled on August 22 and 23 in the Rivers Casino in Schenectady, New York. The event will be telecast by Poker Night in America via their Twitch channel. The heads-up matches shall comprise of just one freezeout session only.

NBC, one of the largest American TV networks, used to televise live the heads-up championship annually between 2005 and 2013. Hellmuth is already very familiar with the format, since he won the very first one in 2005 and made it into the final in the last one held in 2013.

Meanwhile, Polk is actually considered a specialist in heads-up, as he regularly played one-on-one for super high-stakes matches online, played millions of hands and won millions worth of dollars. These two professional poker players have already battled with each other in front of the cameras of Poker Night in America just recently - they were both present at the same cash game table during the last season of the show.

Polk said in his latest video blog, "I gotta say I don't think he [Hellmuth] is going to do very well. I mean heads-up my thing."

The emerging winner of the Polk-Hellmuth battle shall then be facing against the winner of the Kassela-Cates matchup for the awesome $200K grand prize.
Kassela has three WSOP bracelets; however, none of them are in no limit hold'em, as he is more of a mixed game player.

On the other hand, Daniel "Jungleman" Cates is infamous for his unfinished heads-up challenge against Dom "durrrr" Dwan. It's actually not his fault that the challenge is still incomplete as of this time - he created a huge lead over Dwan who then declined to play any more hands and moved away to Macau.

Last month, Kassela and Cates were spotted at the grand opening of the Maestral Casino in Montenegro, but no news yet if both are going to continue and finish up their heads-up challenge.

Polk: "Heads up is my thing"
Yeah, maybe. But here he will be the only one at the receiving end of all the whining from Hellmuth. This caught up with a lot of players over the last few decades.

I certainly like Helmut ... but he does not always play well and smoothly ..... so it seems to me that in this he can not win ..... although maybe I'm wrong .... Hellmuth is a very experienced player and in The right moment will be able to play well ... interesting will be a spectacle

I've watched a few videos in youtube from Doug Polk. Are poor movies with him. I do not know him so well, but I think his good movies asking for money or not showing them. I do not know what's going on but I'd rather watch another more exciting video about poker but made by other people who look better poker.

Now isnt this a gambling or what.
Entering a tournament with 50k, trying to win 200k Smile
I mean, you want to quadruple. thats fine. But doing this with 50k?
On the other hand when you have won millions out of it, not much of a thought for them Smile

According to my point of view the maximum favorite to win this mini challenge for 200,000 dollars to the winner, it is clearly Doug Polk since he has a clear advantage over the rest because the HU is his specialty, he handles this mode perfectly, that is why he takes advantage -

Doug Polk is using his celebrity to earn some money on youtube. His videos are very helpful to all who follow him in twitch. Doug Polk is the undisputed favorite, but I would love to see Phil Hellmuth win as he is a very particular character and I really like that, haha if I lose I think he would get very angry.-

well clearly this is not just an ordinary tournament, since you really not expecting to have a tournament with only 4 entrants do you? this is more like a promotional event to make a statement of some sorts which we will see once the tournament kicks in.

I had always enjoyed watching the $25,000 buy-in “National Heads-Up Poker Championship” produced by the NBC television network until NBC cancelled the show in 2014. I look forward to watching the live streaming of the “King of the Hill” heads-up tournament.

You mean THAT guy, where one better turns off the chat, if he got beaten. And heaven forbid, maybe even by an inferior starting hand. Yep, the tables seem to be full of those guys.

Sooner or later there won't be a poker pro who does not owned Hellmuth once or twice already.
 Mober05/09/2017 20:10:09 GMT
He is getting pissed in the moment, but he really cares in general?
I doubt.
With all that money he has made so far, and still making every single year,
he is far from worrying who will beat him at a point.

hello my friends

Well everybody knows phil Helmuth so they can a some time be on the up side and cashing with him but he bounces back lots of times that is why he shows up on the top of all earnings lists
Something right he got to be doing not always losing to the others pros don`t you think?
