This November, 888poker is proud to announce the return of the God of the Arena Progressive Knockout (PKO) Series. Running from November 10 to 17, players shall have a week of exciting knockout poker action thanks to 24 juicy tournaments lined up especially for them.

God of the Arena PKO Series

  • Duration: From November 10 to 17, 2019
  • Tournaments: 24
  • Highlight: $320 buy-in $300,000 GTD Main Event on November 17, 2019
This PKO Series consists of regular, mini and late variants of each tournament. $150K 9-Max is Event #1, which starts on November 10 at 18:00 GMT, carrying a whopping $150,000 guarantee with a $215 buy-in. The mini version of this tourney is also scheduled on the same day at 18:30 GMT with only a $22 buy-in and $30,000 guaranteed. The Late 9-Max which starts at 20:00 GMT that same day shall have $20,000 GTD with a $55 buy-in.

The main highlight of the series takes place on November 17, beginning with the $100,000 GTD Warm up with a $109 buy-in at 18:00 GMT. On the next hour at 19:00 GMT, the $33 buy-in $50,000 Main Event kicks off.

In between the two tournaments is the main attraction - the $300,000 GTD Main Event which starts at 18:30 GMT at a $320 buy-in amount.

PKO Tournaments

In a PKO tourney, each player has a bounty on their head. PKO tournaments are quite different from regular knockout tournaments because instead of being fixed, a player's bounty goes up even more as they progress in the event. Every time a player knocks out an opponent, they shall receive a portion (usually 50%) of that eliminated player's bounty. The other portion is added to their own, thereby increasing their bounty as well.

Therefore it creates a whole new way of winning cash that only requires a slightly different playing style.

Martin Jacobson of Team888 leaves aspiring players one helpful strategy tip, "Find a good balance between playing aggressively enough to accumulate bounties without being too loose."

888poker ambassador Chris Moorman said you should avoid this common mistake at the PKO tables, "The number one mistake I see people make in [a] PKO MTT is bounty hunting too hard with awful hands when it will ruin their stack if they lose."

Qualify for FREE via daily PKO Qualifiers
As usual of course, 888poker wishes to have as many of their valued players to be able to participate in a fraction of the cost, and so they have created wonderful satellites that one could join in for as low as 10 cents, through their online step satellites and qualifiers. They also have some online qualifiers for the $300,000 Main Event and $150,000 9-Max where your seat could virtually cost you nothing!

Qualifiers schedule:

  • PKO Series #1 - $150,000 9-Max Qualifier
  • When: Every day at 17:00 GMT, until 09/11/19.
  • Prize: Top 5 players will win a $215 seat to the PKO Series #1 - $150,000 9-Max
  • PKO Series #23 - $300,000 Main Event Qualifier

nice series for all poker players,24 tournaments, buy in for every range of poker players, everything for everybody I could say!even for expensive tournaments, you have satellites with low buy in and maybe you will take tickets on this way and be party of this big series!good luck to all players!

I hope you played satellites guys, for a few tournaments in this series and you managed to get one or more qualifications, because it is important to try and to play for your chances. Series are the best chances to achieve something good. Good luck.

The guaranteed money though - compared to the buyins - are not that great. There are many different tournament series where the discrepency is less sizeable to be honest.

I remember this series of games and as far as I remember I didn’t really like this series of games .... I didn’t manage to get into the main tournament through the satellites .... But that was understandable ... Since there were people who wanted to break into the main tournament a lot .... Of course I will try to do it, but it seems to me that this is a rather useless task ... considering my level of poker, it is quite small

Another great series from 888poker. And of course since the tournament is there
it means like always that you can win a seat in a big tournament by playing
their satellites. Not easy to win a ticket though cause it is a big site and the
registrations must be into thousands Smile

well I would like you to do this in other places too, since not always one is playing there, and in 888poker a long time ago I could not do it with several at once it was a mess hahaha so good who can approve it and if I they want to donate something everything is welcome haha Cool Cool Cool

Yesterday I played in the free satellite of this tournament .... the first 15 players entered the tournament, which of course was absolutely unbelievable since there were a lot of players .... I tried because the tournament was free and of course I didn’t succeed because I took a chance ..... it was necessary to take risks so that there was some chance of passing this satellite .... everything is natural

I played in a few satellite tournaments in some games but the luck was not on my side and i'm waiting this week to play, maybe i'll do something. If i am not successful, then i will make a deposit again because the chance can come with only one game.

Well I want them to do a promo in pokerstars because I have been there for years and at the end of the day there are less ways to earn money, since they are taking out the few freeroll that are left and already getting to play tournaments is increasingly difficult and heavy Sad Sad Sad
 yout8511/11/2019 21:22:12 GMT
One freeroll was enough for me to qualify for the $320 main event Thumbs Up

Only a slight complaint... but it won't let me play any more now as I'm already in the target event. Seems a bizarre rule.
