2025 WSOP Paradise: Martin Kabrhel Punts off Stack, Reenters, Ends up at Same Table Again!

Martin Kabrhel, love him, loathe him, but never ignore him, has once again sparked chatter during the 2025 WSOP Paradise festival in the Bahamas with a headlinegrabbing poker play that mixed frustration with flair. What happened when the Czech pro punts his stack to change tables (and then gets sent right back where he started)? Let's deal into the details.

A Stack That Didn't Stack Up
Fresh off his thirdplace finish in the $125,000 Triton NLH 7Handed event, a score worth $1,367,000, Kabrhel jumped into the $100,000 Triton Main Event with fire in his belly and chips in his hands. He turned his starting 250,000 stack into 359,000 early on, only to face a seat draw he didn't like at all.

After politely, or not so politely, asking for a table change and being told he'd have to wait until the next day, Kabrhel decided to take matters into his own hands. Instead of waiting, he shoved all his chips into the pot, effectively sacrificing his stack in hopes of engineering a fresh table draw. That move, poker fans will note, is known as "punting your stack."

All In - On Frustration
With Kabrhel's K♦9♣ all in against Matthew Wakeman's A♣K♣, the cards ran cold. The board delivered Wakeman the winning hand, and Kabrhel's chips literally slid across the felt to the other side of the table. Moments later, as he made his reentry, most likely expecting a fresh start, the tournament gods dealt him right back to the very same table, albeit in a different seat.

"Too tough table, can't play here," Kabrhel reportedly quipped as he walked back to buy in again - a line that poker memes are already choking on.

Tilt, Table Talk, and Tournament Tropes
Kabrhel's antics, ranging from table talk to strategic messagesending, have made him one of poker's most polarizing figures. While some see antics like this as entertaining and good for viewership, others argue they contribute to a disruptive atmosphere at the felt. Opinions are as polarized as a river card on a dry board.

That said, this isn't the first time Kabrhel has stirred the pot this series. From leading big stacks in other events to engaging players in extended table talk, his presence at WSOP Paradise has been anything but quiet, and his emotional allin to change tables might just be the newest meme in an already memerich portfolio.

Why It Matters
Beyond being a quirky footnote, Kabrhel's table tilt highlights broader themes in tournament poker:

  • Seat draws matter - a lot. A tough table can pressure even elite players into unconventional decisions.
  • Tournament format quirks can lead to amusing or frustrating outcomes, like returning to the same table after reentry.
  • Personality drives engagement - whether you love his style or find it exasperating, Kabrhel keeps eyes on the stream and keyboards clicking.
At the end of the day, poker is a mix of skill, psychology, and occasionally, just pure spectacle. And at this year's WSOP Paradise, Martin Kabrhel served up a memorable hand on all three fronts.

I haven't heard of this player, i have no idea what his results are, but frustration is not good if you are a professional player. A great player can always win money with small players, so when playing with the good ones, he must know this and play calmly.

yes, it's ugly if he has bad words because poker was supposed to be a game for gentlemen, not for players of any kind who talk bad. I hope he calms down in the future and learns to use other kinds of words, when he is disturbed.
