I think if you took 1000 guy's who haven't played and 1000 women who hadn't played and made 1 big tourney I think the men would do best because they are more aggresive by nature and perhaps also more competetive. But I think an intelligent woman can get as good as an intelligent man, I just think in general men are more aggressive which is a very important factor in poker. But maybe a woman could be an even more solid player than a man, since she doesn't have the macho syndroms (testosterone). Just wonna throw this in....I think Jennifer Harman is 1 of the worlds best limit hold'em players!

End of the history: if any1 study hard, play hard, stay calm, try to do his best, he'll be a good poker player, doesnt matter, man or woman. Anyone disagree with that?

go goldenstud!!! hahahaha i'm goint to speak on the behalf of all the women in the world (not to attack you men out there)...
Us girls are GREAT at multitasking, we can iron clothes while watching tv, making a phone call and keeping our kids from killing eachother all at the same time. Besides that we mostly have a (part-time or full-time) career, try to be the perfect wife AND be a good friend. In all of these matters we have to deal with men in such a way that they are not intimidated with us.
My point? We are very flexible creatures (no i dont mean that we all can put our legs behind our backs in the bedroom) AND every woman that doesn't need a bag over her head before going out of the house, any woman with just a BIT of looks, can flirt with any (heterosexual) man and it WILL make him blush.
So... though you men have a history of cardgames to back you up... WE have a history of emancipation to back us up, so do not, i repeat DO NOT make the mistake of thinking we won't kick your ass as soon as we get the chance.

I think women might have an advantage over us men a little bit. They are generally more level headed and I think it is harder to tell when most women are lying(bluffing).

I think men have better strategies. but my experience is that women have a lot of luck... one time i was poker live with some friends and 2 girls... the first girl was all in with a flush draw and i call her with 2 pair.. she was out and the second girl was the hole time gambling and she won again and again... so she won....

Glenn that to usually happens to me. I have a poker game at my house usually once in a while.
It would include myself , husband, and a few of his police friends. My husband usually wins to and he hates playing poker. Only reason he plays is because his friends play.

LOL I agree with you dannyjon. I think most of us men do think we are better than women in poker and that can hurt us. I was watching one of the televised WSOP events and Todd and Doyle Brunson were in it and also their sister. Well she ended up lasting longer than both of them, on that occasion. As we all know Doyle is one of the all-time greats.

Yes she is very good. I also like Kathy Liebert , Annie Duke, Vanessa Russo, and I saw on TV the other day where Mimi Tran almost won a WPT event. I think she finished in third place.
