i cant tell you what the exact right play is but what i would do is put in a slightly larger than normal Cbet.. & see how villain responds, best scenario is that he folds and it ends right there but... if he comes over top large, then im most likely to just fold as he could have flopped a set/overpair/2pair. Not worth blasting off the chips away on a pair at this stage of the tournament.
Also: he has you covered, always gotta tread lightly against the bigger stacks as he could end your tourney right there if he really has flopped a set or someother big hand & you dont believe him... ive been there before hehe Disagree

When u raised before flop, got top pair and opp check on the turn - CBET -definitely! If he push - u fold. Smile

Since you are in comfortable position in tourney there's no need to go crazy at this hand, since ur opponent called ur raise preflop he might be holding a bigger pair and this check might be a trap.
you are in late position so check at flop and then see how he responds at turn and c bet acc. or if you want to be more aggressive cbet at flop.

So apparently u both have like the same amount of chips which kinda makes me think he has a good hand to see the flop cuz if i was him 1) I would let u steal if I had an average hand cuz I still have a nice stack to make it to the end 2) I don t wanna mess around with sum1 with the same stack like me and get eliminated while I actually have a nice shot. So what I think is he either has A-Q ,J,T (AK he would 3bet it since he has no position) or like a small-medium pocket pair. With any of this range I believe u should check it til the river cuz my guess is that he will check it too on hoping that his A has a "better kicker" than ur or that his 55,66 or even 99 hold it til the end. I mean that's just my opinion. Let me think what u though about it? Did it go to showdown?

Ops i missread Tongue Though u made a cbet and he called! But cbet it 4 show!

You have to bet here. With TPTK you have the best hand most of the time in this spot.

If opponent pushes: We would need more info about him, to say anything.

i just would check and call if he makes a reasonable raise ... if he would raise hugh i don't know what i would do but probably fold but all depends at that moment and the info off the other players .

I would bet in that flop

I also would bet u got top pair i think if the other player has 99 or better he had raised you before flop so u got better hand and must bet

Thanks for your opinion. About your question, the answer is yes, it went to showndown but I'm going to post it later.
To me is quite interesting to read all point of view so If I post how the hand end now I think I could lose a couple of opinions. But like I said, I will do it later. Big Smile

I would also Cbet the Flop. To my mind, checking behind is dangerous here because if an overcard appears on the Turn you´ll probably have to fold to his bet. As it was already said, your opponent will fold most of the hands of his range to a Cbet. If he pushes, you cann still fold without having lost too much money and if he just calls, you can still re-evaluate the Turn

Bet the flop for around 7-10k, most of the time you should take this down and if you don't get away from it.

I like to check behind here because your top pair isn't that strong and you have only a chip stack 18 BB deep. If u catch an ace or 8 on the turn pushing is the way to go while if u don't improve, folding is easy here. With less than 20 BB, it's either push or fold .
Always be wary when an opponent checks, he could be slowplaying and trying to trap u into committing with a weaker hand.

Check, just to see how strong is the hand of your oppo; you don't have a strong kicker.
Be careful just to avoid traps and to be committed

I agree but you are saying just one part. How much would you bet?. How will you act if he push or raise?

how many hands have you played against the villan?
do you have a read on him?
need more info but i would probably check it down as it's likely he har a pocket pair probably 10 10

top pair top kicker is a pickle but what u have to remember is get some value if u check ur giving him a free card make him pay if he has over that just unlycky

lol.. over 50% check behind
well, he calls ur preflop raise and then he makes a weak check on the flop, the board is colored, you have TOPTOP.. the only right play here is a cbet, 3/4 of the pot
