he's a pretty good tournament player but at cash tables he's just a donk and does crazy antics too, lol he lets his ego get in between too much so i don't like him
I have to say yes. 11 bracelets is no small accomplishment, regardless of tourney size. Most pro's will never even win one. His personality probably tarnishes his image so that people like to take shots at him without really considering that he's more than capable of adding to his total braclets.

Hellmuth is one of the best tournament No Limit Hold 'em players there is.
I really like him, but his poker table manners are very bad. Away from the table he seems like a great person though. Very arrogant, but most poker players are.

Posted by Plexo: Well if he has won 11 bracelets on WSOP he must be good. I don't think he is the best in the world but one of the best for sure.
If you think that Hellmuth is not one of the best, how can you explain his winnings????? Just luck??? I can't belive that.
Anyway I don't like him so much.
It s very simple! Him and Doyle Brunson won mostly of their bracelets when WSOP had like 200, 300 players max. On this WSOP 09 there were 6400 players registered. Let s see when Hellmuth will win back again on these circumstances ...
Stupid comment. Have you seen ANY pattern in the past 10 years in WSOP main event winners? No. It's not who the best is anymore, it's who has the most consistent luck. To get through 5000+ people takes a lot of skill, and a LOT of luck. It's still an accomplishment to win with 300 people in a tournament, either way.

Ledgend for sure he is... Player of players aswell as mouth of all mouths! his skill is for sure worth recognition alone . his mouth can make people hate or loath him but when you consider he is from the old school of poker he has quite a fresh attitude... but some times a bad attitude with it? I'd love to play a game with him..... I'd play any two cards just to wind him up hahaha. I'd love to see him get further in the big MTT's but maybe its not his time now....soooooo many new and improving players out there Phil Hellmuth should run for president......lol

Of course I agree. I don't like him for his behaviour but he won 11 bracelets and this counts a lot. I suppose he is no more strong as in tha past: he's rich, famous, sells lots of books, often as hoist in tv. But a champ is always a champ

Did you wrote ""one off" (with two ff instead of one, meaning he is out of the game) on purpose or it was just a mistake? This question as a good purpose because: 1st - if you did it on purpose and you answer "i dont think so", what you are really saying is that you consider him really in the game, being one of the best players there is; 2nd - if it was just a mistake you are saying you dont consider him one of the world top players; To me, there is no doubt he is one of the best, and i will participate in the poll considering you just wrote a mistake, answering Yes, like in "yes, he is one of the best" instead of "yes he is off the best" like the mistake you wrote says to all of us. Be more carefull next time, so nobody gest misunderstood!

He is very good, one of his recent bracelets (couple of years ago?) was against a field of more than a thousand players. That's still a really good result, but for TV hes a very boring player to watch until he gets sucked out on or rivered.. THEN it gets interesting. Hes your typical TAG player.
