Omaha Poker?  0
Hello everyone

I am considering learning more about omaha poker. Therefore I would like to know if anyone can recommend some poker books solely aimed to become skilled at omaha.

I have heard that the donkey-meter should be even higher in omaha..... Big Smile

Secrets of Professional Pot-Limit Omaha by Rolf Slotbloom is seen as the best book about PLO at the moment. It is from 2006.

I think it s a great idea! Like texas hold em was the new thing after 5 card draw, omaha will be the next big thing after texas hold em. It s good to win some skills on it cuz definitely a lot of fishs there that play every single hand Worship

I've played Omaha and have some success at it. The biggest rule I found with Omaha is that it's a game of straights or better. Anything less (sets) and your likely find yourself losing your money. Not to say you won't win pots with a hand weaker than a straight, but not very many.

Love omaha but i personally wouldnt play it on a cash table, i would probably go broke in one day.......... omaha hi lo i love even more in fact probably my favourite game .... this i would play on a cash table .... don't know any books though as i don't read to learn ( i probably should ) like to watch poker on tv and pick up advice there ...... sky poker on tv is great for holdem but don't see any omaha on tv..........hope you enjoy playing it but try playing tourneys and stt too as its a interesting game..... love that Bigbet have a omaha hi lo tourney .... so i don't have to play holdem all the time

I just love PLO but the varaince involved kills me... Got to be very strong mentally to get over the constant beats in the game.

omaha is a lovely game. good luck!

i think for the microstakes any basic (beginners) strategy guide should do. i used one from a magazine to get started for PLO, but im sure there is a lot of them online as well.

Omaha is teh shiznit! Shame i suck at it lol. Seriously though, omaha is very very fishy. Most people have no idea how to play good, myself included, so i end up having a shot every couple of weeks when i've had a really good day at the NL tables. Dunno if i'd be able to grind at it though, so much variance involved. I've flopped full house a couple of times, only to find somebody else with a better full house & on one occassion i flopped FH & stacked off to some guy holding quads... that put me on tilt Evil

I agree with. I used to play some PLO at micro limits. I started with great winnings but in one or two sesion I lost all my profits. I don't like those kind of up/downsings so I decided to quit and keep playing NLHE.

However I love to play some Omaha MTTs, but mainly freerolls or low buy-in tournaments.
I haven't read any Omaha's book, but you can fin really good material on Internet.
