Since the release of the movie 2012,( have not seen it yet), many are going on and on about the Mayan calander and the "end of the world". Lets hear some thoughts on this. I think this should be an interesting thread.

Its intresting, but the perfect alignment was in 1998, so I guess if not a lot happend then than now wont be much diffrent. 1 film iv been looking forward too, they did a great advertising campaign. End of the world is always a little steap, end of human kind possaible. Think we do have some threats such as solar flairs and magnetic flips(wich is in progress) I personally think we will manage to distroy our own existance on earth as we know it well befor nature does.

Yes sadly I agree with people going to destroy all before nature does. Just read that polar bears are now canablizing their young due to shrinking ice.

I've not seen it yet, but as soon as a decent torrent is up, I'll be d/ling it. Seen a lot of the talk about it and I'm not totally convinced, but it's totally probable.
Is it strange that I'm mildly excited about it actually happening?

I not really sure what will happen in that year, but I do believe things will get a lot worse,and not better, and we continue too see things happen that we thought we would never see,just think this generation (the 30 some things) has been and seen a lot things we thought we would never see happen...

lol 2012 december 21st were all dien...its my birthday and will be the biggest party in the world lol i may be the only happy partier but whatever..

I thought the world had already ended in the year 2000?! lol but seriously, i think it's a bit of sensationalist notion to "predict" the end of the world. When it's your time, it's your time, nothing can change that & it just seems like some people are just afraid of dying alone & want the whole world to go with them! I've also heard an interesting (possible consipiracy) theory that fear is a subconscious way of controlling populations & it's implanted into our minds by the media with all these ideas of the world ending, aliens invading, nuclear wars etc etc. Maybe its a conspiracy but who really knows the true agenda of the people that basically run the world. All i know is that the world is not ending 2012! ..... Or atleast i hope not!

Why should one be nervous about 2012 ? I mean nothing is going to be better by running around in circles screaming ... live one day at a time and see what happens.
(If someone wana bet about the end of the world i will challenge you, i bet that the world will continue , any takers that the world will end? )

I have not seen the movie yet, and I have not read up on the maya thing, although I'm was quite interested in american native culture when I was younger. But htat thing about the world coming to an end, seems to happen quite regulary. I remember in 1999 everything was supposed to explode, because of the milleniumbug, and such. And it's not the first time. There's always, at any point of time, some one declaring the s**t is going to hit the fan.
My two cents.
But I'm going to look up this theory about 2012, any maybe change my mind.

I think its just another way of making money, they put that out there to for audience to be more interested in the movie. So its BS probably.. And if it is the end of the world. Well.. We all gotta die sometime
But i wanna see the movie. Havent seen it and heard it awesome
