iPoker low buyin Double Ups worth wasting time?  0
Hi, I played $1 Turbo DoNs on Stars and I have to say it is easy money. But I can't say the same about the $1/$2 DuPs*10.

Field on both has an absurd number of fish, so no problem.

The problems are, on iPoker they have 20% fee, but ok 60+% ITM is profit, should be easy.
Pokerstars DoN blind structure is quick and you soon start paying antes, but on iPoker... Well, it is wide knowledge that iPoker SnG blind structure really sucks, with a turbo on the tournament name: it's terror, those blind double up on mid game are big killers. But to worse a lot more your situation, you play less hands per level than in pokerstars... So get to a point that you have to play push/fold, shoving looser which can boost variance up.
Another disadvantage is if you play multitable (6 in my case) on iPoker, I'm playing some DUPs on early stage, others on mid stage and even one on the bubble, so you have total confusion. On stars you can play a lot of them on the same level.

Those games are beatable, but does the time you spend worth a low ROI?

My opinion is: High fee + Low #hands/level + violent structure = a bit profitable, but with variance to high for a low variance game.

i think if you wanna play doubleup, 20% is too much rake for it.
I'm an average player, its hard for me to beat this. so i don't bother much with ipoker.
you already have pokerstars so why bother with ipoker. but if you want a change maybe u can try other sites with less rake - cake/bigbet

Yes, I would'nt bother if I hadn't a bankroll to liberate. I don't know why something has to be difficult on that network. Cash games too nit, SnG with High fees and horrible structures, etc...

Start playing from $5. There the rake is the normal 10% and the blind structure is a little better. Thumbs Up

Try not to play any tourney with fees higher than 10%. So avoid the low stakes SnGs at IPoker or Ongame. Starting with the $5 ones the rake drops, as Plexo has pointed out.

Offcourse 20% fee is insane, but ur question was are they beatable?
Yeh offcourse they are, with fast blind structure players making more mistakes, just do good ICM and ur bankroll goes up on the long run.

My experience with low buyin DoNs is that they are totally beatable. Most people still don't realize that half people get paid, and so when I play those I usually end up in the money without even having seen a flop (except maybe blind flops)...the rake is big yes, but if you play tons of them and multitable them, and you don't have a big BR I guess they are a nice option

I thought it was a cool strategy still waiting until they kill themselves but it's not for sure that only waiting assure your success. I've played a lot of Double-ups just waiting and blinds finally have devoured me. I think that, independentlly of the strategy you use, it's better to play a game with 10% fee than 20% fee. In long time, you should take more profit of it.
