Either the guy just has no brain, cause poker isn't really THAT difficult to learn and at least stay within decent limits of losses, especially when you play at stakes you have the skill for, OR...
as obvious as it may be, the guy will probably be addicted, and probably play more than he should, in terms of hands, tables, time AND too high stakes. Probably he wants to recover his previous losses and starts playing more and more, without even caring or thinking to learn how to improve. The only things that is blinding is the money, not to get rich, but to stay afloat.
You might be surprised how many people of this sort are at your table every single day ! And very often, you can spot them very easily. The problem is : most other players call them donks and fish, and find them good "suckout subjects". But... where is our sense of compassion ? Calling these people names only makes it worse for them, and sucking them out is just what they (and probably we neither) don't NEED !! WE are the ones partly to blame, cause we keep their habits going too. Think about it
