Hi there,
i ve been playing online poker for about 1 year now. I really love the game, read some books, some forums, replayed hands but i still can t build my bankroll. I ve played (still playing) NL microstakes cash games at several sites but it s always the same, sometimes my bankroll grows but in the end it s always the same, zero dollars left.
I play with Holdem Indicator, this software is very happy with my play, i score as a TAG. My bankroll sure don t think i m a TAG. Now, i must say, when i started to play i lost my money the first week, now, a year later it takes some months before i go broke.
But i realy think it s weird. I ve got a lot of data off other players, but i never find in this data a player who build his bankroll. They all stay about the same, sometimes a little profit, sometimes a little or more loss. So whats the truth about players who make money with online poker?
Sure I would like to be a pokerplayer who can make an extra income with the game. I ve done my study (at least i ve read some books and read a lot online, like on this site) but this doesn t seem to be enough to beat the microstakes.
I love this game to much to give up. I m sure i can do better, but a few hints off you guys could help me on my way to 20 bracelets
Oo, by the way, thanx BankrollMob for this site and the free money.

Hi antwerp, brussels here... I went crazy at the beginning playing micro cash tables. Then I discovered Sit&Go's! I play a lot of STT S&G's now since about a month and that seems to work building (slowly) my bankroll. For variety I play some micro/low MTT's or Freerolls which pay out a bit. Tonight played BRM freeroll at Noble and finished 7th. ($7.50). Not much, but it was fun.

you are playing only for one year now, no need to be disappointed - for most well known players it took a while to become a winning player - what did you expect? I know there are always those stories of players that won big after playing just for a little while, but there are much more losing players - they never get mentioned . Just have patience, play many hands, try differnent games and get more experience you just cant have that after one year. i wouldnt recommend omaha, stay to NLH. gl 2 u
Because of the nature of poker, it takes a lot of patience, self loathing, and trial and error to get the recipe right. Forums, books, videos and such help accelerate the process, but don't expect a great deal of success for 3-5 years (and only if are trying)

When I first started playing, I asked someone I saw frequently at the tables (whom I thought played well) how long he had been playing. He answered two years. Two years later I am far and away better than I was two years ago, but that guy I asked the question to also got better!Four years now for him. Just to say that it takes time. Play small stakes, read the books, re-read the books and learn to read your opponents. GL!

I would also recommend to play sit&go's, the micro stakes cash games are filled with people who have no clue, why are they doing something, so you can never be sure about what they called your pre-flop raise with!
