Good overlaps?  0
Any suggestions for a site with frequent tournament overlaps?

Looking for buy ins between 2 and 10 dollars mostly.

Got to thinking about this after seeing the FT poker $1 main event tournament only reach two thirds of the guarantee.

It's very rare for a gtd tourney tourney not to go over its guaranteed prize fund. Are you sure the tourney wasn't a rebuy? I remember reading here recently that one player joined a tourney thinking he was getting a great deal but it turned out to be a rebuy. Think his story turned out good tho as he won.

I find that more often than not the pokerroom knows exactly how many people to expect and the gtd amounts are just a way of controlling that. But now and again you can find them everywhere if you look. I've found a few on bwin poker at low stakes but it requires staking out the lobby for the last minute of registration which isn't so easy.

My advice is to note the time of day as there are more likely to be overlaps at quiet times. Also some days are quieter than others. Once you find a tourney make a note of it and always go back and check.

Yea it wasnt a rebuy tournament. I think the main reason for the overlap was that they required 60,000 players to hit the gaurantee. And thats always going to be hard to do. It just got me thinking

@ SCDossett. In that case the 1$ main event is very good value for money. It's because it's a fulltilt promotion for the wsop and ftp probably think it will draw more business to the site and cancel out the deficit. Since it's only a dollar buy in people probably play other tourneys at the same time or join another when they get busted out. It also pays for them to send people to the wsop as it's good promotion. It is however a very good promo and +ev if you are have the option of taking time off for the wsop.

@ dozn01. Thanks. I see you're sticking to your reply to every thread rule. If you're interested I've posted another part to my story. It's on the second page.

Yea i wouldnt be suprised to see 5000 players registered not turn up. Simply because there are so many tournaments that satelite into it.

I have played a fair number of the 5 FTP 90 player sit and goes even though i wouldnt be awake for the $1 main event.

300 starting chips, super turbo blinds. Stupid buy in. 2 places pay. I use it any time im feeling steamed. Its fun being able to throw chips around with disregard and not hurt your bankroll every know and then.

Hello everybody!
Full of good advice. Sure, it's a good idea to look for tournaments overlap from the GTD. But that will take time. And you must be registered at several sites.
See you soon for new posts lol! Smile
