ok, so I was playing the 0.10c / 0.20c on Titan Poker. Something just happened that is beyond me and I really need someone to explain it. I'm SirLexSteel,had $30 in my stack and was in the BB. palestinechamp joined the table with $10, didnt wait for BB and just posted:

Now my question is: "palestinechamp goes All-in $0 due to disconnection"
What exactly does that mean, how exactly does it work and why did we goto a showdown? I dont understand how he 'won the main pot' when he was disconnected?

It's called disconnection protection and some sites have it on certain tables. If you get disconnected you get a side pot with all the chips put in so far. Since there's only two of you in the pot it then goes to showdown.
Can be a bit unfair since the players gets the advantage of not risking anymore chips when he might have folded but if you had a great hand you'd be really annoyed if your connection failed. On some sites there are tables where there is no DP if you don't want it.
Yep, just like the first guy said, DP is what happened, although some people tend to use it to limit the damage when they have half a hand. I personally don't like playing tables that allow too many DP's per person.

I used to have a bad connection so tables with disconnection protection was REALLY nice to have, however I have seen many occassions where players purposely disconnected because they thought they had a good hand, but not a great hand, and the betting was getting fierce. I now have a rock solid connection which makes things less frightening when I get killer hands.

I hate this disconnection-protection on IPOker. Too much abuse! I have 1 freak, that regulary abuses that. Was sending an email to the support, but he still plays there. So i stopped playing there!

LOL - I suggest to play tables that are not proteced with DC. But then on the other hand - I can tell you whats wrong with it - its I poker network lol.

LOL....funny but it happens a lot,but here the idiot who disconnected ended up ripping him self off,he could have won more if he didn't pretend to disconnect...hahaaa....saved you money be glad.
