Funniest Freeroll ever  0
I just signed up to Everest, to try and get holdem Manager for free via their site (HM).
I wanted to check out the tables before before playing a money game, so I played a Bankroll builder freeroll satellite to a $2.500 freeroll.

950+ runners - 50 places go through.

A few 100´s fell out right away because Everest takes you out if you are not logged in at the start.
Then it was a raisng, re-raising, all-in fest all of a sudden, and I decided to just fold....and keep folding.
Players were dropping out faster than flies in a fly-swatting tournament.
After 1h30 of this folding stuff, I was 90th (last) with 900+ chips left!
Slowest and lowest Blind structure I´ve ever seen.
I figured I could still fold into the payoffs.

THEN...I made the big mistake of playing... Big Smile

KQ on the BB, no raises, flop hits K83, so I go all-in, just to make sure I get my seat.
2 idiots call, raise etc.... 4....8....
and some donk hit his trip 8´s....pfffff

I should have kept folding. Smile

In the meantime I´playing a Monthly Million Sat.(free9) on Party and reading mails and stuff, same story...fold, fold fold...

I get J10 Spade ... the turn hits 3 spades with the K Spade ... I go all-in with 2.500 chips...
3 others go all-in as well!
I figure, someone is holding the A Spade , or the Q Spade ... I´m in trouble.... Confused

What happens?

NOBODY is holding Spade except me!!!! Shock
What a bunch of DONKS!!!

I quadruple up! Shock
Now 5 min later... I double up again with nobody holding anything and 4 raisers in the pot. Shock Shock

WTF?

I haven´t really played Freerolls for a while, but is this what´s happened to the game?
Anyways..thought I´d share...lol

EDIT:

AS I finished this post, I just tripled up again!
2 Diamond on the flop, I´m holding a Flush draw, raises all around, 3rd Diamond , all-ins all around...
And guess what?
I´m the only one holding Diamond ......

....now I´m speechless..... and in 4th place...lol Big Smile

Yeah...just fun to write about it.
I used to have the impression that these freerolls were tougher, but maybe it´s me who was playing like them...although I don´t think I EVER played like that..at least I hope not... Confused

But who can remember?...

Thats the thing with freerolls, its free.... so most people dont care if they loose and the chance of suckouts, like tripple 8's is much higher than in a seriously played tournament. when i started playing online i thought its so easy to make money by playin poker, but in the higher ranks things like u mentioned wont happen too often. so just play tight and enjoy getiin in the money Smile

so how did you do in the tourney you win it Smile

Nope! Big Smile

The blinds are just too high in the end, only 10 players get through, and it´s just a crapshoot in the end. NOW I remember why I don´t play those qualifiers anymore. Smile

And I´ve been thinking about it, but I DEFINITELY never went all in with a probable Flush on the Board and 4 people doing the same. No way in hell!
So....I don´t get these people at all.
If they do it in the first 10min., ok, it´s a hit and miss, but after playing a while...no, I just don´t get it.

Maybe I´m stupid. Big Smile

These freerolls I like to play because it is free and you don'y lose any money. Freerolls are bankroll builders. Freerolls are good for passing the time you have.

Haha!.. This exact question was eating me in one of my first posts here in the forum... Back in March or April I was playing an FTP freeroll tourney with a huge field and after 1 and a half hour of play, donks kept calling me till the river with absolute garbage and stupid chances to hit their draws! Shock What can I say, once a donk, always a donk for some people who have unbelievable luck many times over the course of a tourney, but they just don't get it and keep doing the same stupid calls and all-ins.

As for the Western Europe MMillion and 250K Party Freerolls with the 10 seats, I must say it's a strange thing... I've won 6 of them in a period of one and a half month or so, playing about twice a week and although I should consider myself somehow a specialist of the know-how-to-win-my-seat nice and easy, I still haven't figured out a pattern of doing this!!!..
All I know is that all times I won my seat I played SUPER-TIGHT and got involved in the fewest all-ins possible, even when I had a good hand and suspected that the donk who pushed was on tilt... and I avoided all-ins with MORE THAN ONE opponent like hell...
Funny thing is that I tried a couple of these freerolls last week and people were shoving all-in as you say like maniacs... got myself carried away and pushed too, but with no luck. Big Smile

Anyway, although I noticed that there's a steady core of people who play these tourneys more or less every day (I've bumped over the same names many times), maybe the percentage of gamblers and donks some days is very high, and if you're unlucky and have many of them constantly in your table the freerolls surely seem like donkfests... Smile beats me!...
Or maybe it's time I stick to the $4.40 Guaranteed MTTs on Stars, which are really very competitive and a pleasure to play Blink Thumbs Up Cheers!

lol I known what you mean man, I remember thinking freerolls were harder than they actually were. After I made the move from live (pub games once a week) to online - I just played for play money for a while. Anyway before depositing or using NDB's I tried some freerolls and I remember thinking the game was a lot more serious than play money, now that there was REAL money at stake lol..

But yeh - in the last few months I had a crack at a few freerolls and yeh, they're completely ridiculous.. Like the level of play is outstandingly bad.

Such play is common in freerolls. Go big or go bust. Smile

And it makes no sense to play propper poker there, it is a donkfest and it should be played like one.
