What do you do guys to avoid entering in tilt? Sometime is hard to manage when you have one, two,three.........bad beats. Day by day.
I have similar issues and I am working through it. When I feel aggravated with a play or players mistake that pays them off, I will click the sit out button, but stay in front of the monitor. Then I will just observe until either a) I have cooled down and can make rational decisions. or b) I have a great pre flop hand AA AK kk..But everyone has different methods of dealing with tilt. Just have to find what can work for you and stick with it.

First I get away from the computer.Then I analyse the hand played, congratulate me for playing it the best way. Then I start mourning my tragic unlucky destiny and swear to quit poker. After that I start recalling all those times when river saved me and conclude that in the end ... the game is fair.

I been play for ... a while now.. I still havent completely mastered not tilting..
I find when I'm drinking it's worse..
At the moment, I'm finding play 6-tables (instead of 2-4) helps a lot.. There's enough action across all of them (6 X 6max) so I don't get bored and I can take a beat on one table and just move on..
However, sometimes if I take a beat (stacked) on like 3-4 of the 6 tables at once.. in the next 5min or so I'll undo all my sessions good work and starting losing a buyin every minute lol.. at that point I've found I need to close down the client and take a break - at least an hour..
So, that said - my advise is taking a break works best for me.

read some articles about tilt and how to manage with it. helped me a lot: I still go on tilt from time to time but more often i recogniza when I'm about to tilt and prevent it.
I have also heard about a book (didn't read it) "the poker mindset" not strictly related to tilting but It seems to be a must for a serius poker player (I'M NOT )

You will have to figure out what works best for you, everybody is different. I multitable so if I am suffering too many bad beats at one table I will close it down and open another one. If the whole session in general is going really bad I will shut down everything before I bleed even more, do something else for a while (at least 30 minutes), think about what happened, why and what if anything I could have done differently, and then resume. Many times I have salvaged a losing day by taking a break and coming back fresh. GL!

Thats very disturbing, you and magatt966 should be ashamed of yourselves! Even if it was a "joke", its horrible to think of. If you have to beat on a female to feel better about yourself, you are just a low life scumb bag, who should be locked away in a torture chamber for eternity!

What I said is an ancient chinese saying.
I have never touch a women with one only finger (with bad intention I mean ).
I have no problem at all with women; on the contrary I think you have with men.
Does your partner (actual or previous ones) beat you? It seems so from the way you got this joke, and I am sorry for you if this happens.

I don't wanna drag this out, because this is off topic. Hitting a woman is a no joking matter. I was abused in a previous relationship. My husband has NEVER put his hands on me, and the day he does, I will be long gone. Why would you think I have a problem with men? I have no problem at all with them. Just the low life ones. Its similar if a woman beats on a helpless child, they are no better then men who abuse women.
Now lets get back to tilting and what you do to help relieve tilting?

LOL shokaku showing his evil side. There is nothing you can do about tilt relly, you only know your tilting after losing, thats when you turn off computer anyhow so, not a lot you can do, you can controll what makes you tilt, understanding that you will lose hands that you shold not etc, the more you play the less you tilt IMO. Ill say it for doomdy, tilt is for noobs.

+1 for queentessa she is right is not a joke to beat anyone equal women ,men, child or animal the only reason to beat anyone is when you must defeat yourself or another people . but i think is how magatt say is was only a BAD joke from magatt and shokaku and i think they do it not again For tilting the best reason is take a break and do anythink else watch a movie,play a game or anythink else gl all

no offense (seriously) people people who've been personally affected by something never think its a 'joking' matter.
That's a what a joke is - it's laughing at an otherwise bad situation. We make 'lite' of tragedy so we can deal with it. That's what humor/irony is. SIMPLE.

I play poker mostly for fun , so i dnt tilt tht often. but sometimes it gets too much and its hard to keep urself calm . then i just take a break and play some other game

Myself, I take a cooler and smoke a cigaret, and then I come back more calm.. If you don't smoke, you better start doing it! He he, I am just kidding obviously . Well leave the computer for a while, and come back when you find youself more calm .
