I´ll put in my 2 cents worth:
I think the idea of some more "pinned" threads is a good one, they get lost in the shuffle. Maybe a "pinned" section or something similar for the most interesting Threads that should always be accesible?
Don´t think it will happen, but your idea of linking polls to the actual posting in the thread is a good one.

I think the 'how to play JJ" threads are unrelated. The thread today is for a funny youtube video, which I haven't yet watched. But I agree that repetitive threads can be annoying and I already suggested an idea for this in my earlier post.

The video is very funny, and yes you already talked about it. Its not that anoy having threads with the same aubject, but with more organization the video could be along with the other thread, anjd give to other thread longer life .

I increased it from 10 to 20 possible answers. That should be more than enough for most polls, otherwise I can manually add more answers when needed.
Multiple choice answers is a bit more complicated and it's very rare that I've seen a need for it here, so it's not something we're going to spend time on adding anytime soon.

Admin is there any possibility for us to have a small freeroll with like 50$ or 100$ for the best threads of the weeks. Awarding the best forum members everyweeks with a freeroll.
We could reduce the value of the points to participate in the forum, but in other way we would win every weeks a very nice freeroll, where we could know better the mobster more active in the forum.
We could along with the freeroll a bounty if anybody wants to make little sidebets before the tournment starts.

kinogomes, that sounds very complicated.... especially the part about selecting the best forum members every week - and dealing with those getting angry for not being selected.

@ admin. What about this? Is this possible? I mean it's fairly common that someone will make a thread about the same thing within days of someone else cos people just can't be bothered to use the search function.

@awood, I've thought about it a long time, but it's not that easy. It's very unilkely that another thread will have the exact same words in the subject as the one being created, and searching for "similar threads" will give lots of wrong results.
I'm also 99% sure that people who are creating a new thread, and being told that "there might be a thread already on that topic", ain't gonna bother reading through the potential existing threads to see if they are creating a duplicate.
I haven't seen this feature in use on any other forum that I'm going to personally, including the biggest forum providers out there (vBulletin and phpBB). There are probably plugins for such a thing, for those forums, but I've never seen them in use.
It's also the constant "problem" with online forums. Most of the things being discussed in an online forum has already been discussed before and you can't just tell everybody to search for an answer instead as this would undermine the whole idea about having a forum in the first place

out of all the forums i have seen BRM is the easiest to use and best laid out. A monkey could find his way around here and thats the way it should be. If it aint broken why fix it?

Dealing with the angry menbers its the best and easiest part, its just tell them to be better member and have better participation in the forum. Long time ago i participated in a forum with this kind of deals and everybody was happy, it wasnt the same members participating all time, and everybody was trying harder to have good threads and try to enter in the thread of the week freeroll.
