Poker, not Pharo or Faro or the many other names it has. Wild Bill was good, of course he died with 2 pair A's over 8's. Doc Holiday was very smart and made a living playing poker. Although it is said he also played Faro he didn't once he became a better poker player. He was very well educated and that made him have a great advantage over his other players. What other players were great in the 1800's?

i would have to disagree with Doz on this one and go with wild Bill Hickok who was murdered on August 2, 1876, in Saloon No. 10 at Deadwood, South Dakota for winning a hand with A8,rightly so in my opinion. since then he has had the hand named after him A8, [dead mans hand]. Beat that Brunson 10,2 huh. R>I>P Bill. heres a pic of the man himself

No way Bill was only known for the one hand and Doc had to make a living playing cards because of his TB. He had no other choice. Wild Bill was a law man as well. Creek Johnson and Texas jack were also good players, but no other man had to depend on poker for a living more than Doc.
