to crack the top 200 you need to play as much freerolls as possible and cash in them the often that you can ?!

Cracking the top 200 on FT is not that hard, you just need to play super tight Poker.
I made a thread about it a while back.
Won the first FT freeroll and made 2 more final tables in about 8 games that way in the first couple of weeks. Then my patience gave out. Big Smile
Takes a LOT of patience.
There´s an addition further on in the thread which I forgot to add about some hands you can play as well.
Good Luck!

(and forget the "sign up late" part, they changed the late registration)

That's right, and you have the whole necessary vade mecum for these freerolls in above-quoted thread of @IslandJack Cool

ok I'm going to take a look at it. But the point you made about super tight. I am a very tight player....try and let the scrubs leave to start off usually. FT freerolls are the easiest I have seen also. Bodog and PS are a little more complicated in my opinion. But I forgot to mention this in the previous post...its about using the whole time given to you. Should you take the full time to make a decision or does it matter? I never use the auto boxes at the bottom but using the time I given I have always wondered about.

For these freerolls it´s not so important.
You´re going to be doing more folding than anything alse for most of the Tourney, until the last +/- 80. If you´re "unsure" before that, you probably should fold. Big Smile

The clock is a very personal thing. Use it when you feel you need it. Don´t make the typical "reaction" moves to a raise that you see all the time in these low-level games.
I use it a lot to confuse and manipulate in these FT freerolls. Seems to work pretty well, but it´s a matter of experience, I guess.

i agree. I have had success on some other sites with. i just never played at FT for some odd reason lol. Im not a noob by no means to poker. but freerolls have always made me think hard, made me thinkg how many idiots are in therem etc haha. so im going to try and start from scratch here so we will see how it goes.

In these LB freerolls the target is to be cashed as many times as possible. In the first period you don't need to be super-tight, just fold most of speculative hands and don't play. Keep attention on your position and when you got good pocket hand in late position - try to use it. Besides, I'd suggest to be more agresive in good position when you're close the bubble, as well as close FT, regardless what you're holding on hand...

Sometimes, when blinds are already quite big, I manipulate the time for decision in various way, predicting to hold SB as the last one player in current level, while the blinds change to next level... so then I'm holding a button as first player in new blinds level... Big Smile

The key is to sit out when your out of position, and early in the game altogether. When i say sit out i don't mean sit out and go do the dishes, i mean sit-out watch and learn from your opponents, see how many hands certain ones play, how many donkeys there are (capitalize on donks they spit chips like crazy). I've learned to limp even with a premium preflop hand IE.. AA KK QQ. This allows me to set traps if i hit the nuts. Let them do your betting for you.

Play as many as possible win as much money as you can. Now if i could just practice these principles myself maybe i'd make it to the leader board. I use it for a while but the minute i stop (usually right before the bubble) i bust out. Good luck and see you at the tables!

trapping i get the bad end of the stick usually. If I have one of the hands in my range I play it aggressive. I try the occasional trap then end up folding while some guy played 7 4 off and hit a set lol. Does anyone know how the leaderboard points work? how many do you get for what places and do you have to place in the money?

...and count how many russian players (all the nations) sitting around, then mark them with red label and watch carefully how loose-fishy-agresive they play... Aww crap! Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

BTW: @bummy2020 - as far as I know, you need to earn at least $6-8 to place in top 200 and about $22-23 to finish in top 30. But you can also review the archive LB standings and estimate it by yourself.

Thanks daraspol...been helpful

so the fact is: the best thing to do is winn one of those freerolls. That make it really secure to be in the Top 200. But the problem is: if it would be that easy, anybody would do it that way Blink

The advice these Mobsters provided to you is what you need to listen to. One thing, must do as hoodi stated, play in as many freerolls as possible. I will also have to mention the thread that Islandjack referenced above in his reply to this. Follow the advice provided in that thread and you WILL prevail in placing in the $$ in most all the freerolls. Since joining BRM, listening to the advice provided by the Mobsters and reading in "Poker Strategies" my game has improved tremendously. Good Luck to ya mate and Good Luck to All!

Correct: you must win at least 1 freeroll and then if you notch another one FT, you will easy secure your place in Top 30. Good luck 2 all...!

----------------------------

Of course, I mean $100 prize pool freeroll.

FIRST FREEROLL TODAY....running good. I stuck to my 4 hand range until 1st break. roughly 4400 chips. pocket kings right after break in the cut off. a large stack shove from utg +1. He had As4s and hits the wheel on me. Put out that fast. I love it sometimes when we talk strategy and your feeling good about it and then strategy shits right on your face lol.

lol Big Smile
Yep, sucks! Not much you can do about that.
If somebody shoves on you you have to call with AA and KK, and it´s going to happen that you get busted.
I always try to raise and see a flop with KK, but if they shove you have no choice.
Won´t happen that often though, you were doing well up till then. Blink
Keep it up!
