$10+1 ticket  0
Last Sunday, i spent a $10+1 ticket that i received from a BRM no deposit bonus promotion in a $5,000 guaranteed tourney, with a field of 640 players and 90 places paid. It was the first time i was playing a paid tourney from this dimension. Things were going fine for the first two hours, with me always in the paid places. But after 2h30m of tourney, this happened to me:
There were only 120 players in the tourney already.
I had +-11K chips and was big blind: 800.
Guy next to me had also +-11K chips bets 2,560.
Everyone folded.
I had 10,10 and decided to go all-in.
Guy thought for more than a minute and he decides to give me the call. He shows A8 off. I was surprised with that hand, but got even more surprised with the table: flop K8J, turn Q, river 10.
He won the hand with straight and i kept 300 chips, which i lost in the next hand with A8 agains him again, who shows 52 and got a pair.
Did i played wrong?

Personally I would have folded. I know it is easy to say after the fact. I cannot say whether it is the right play without knowing the player - Did he have a wide range? Was he loose or tight? There are many things, but one thing I know is that you will remember this hand for a while and that poker is 90% skill and 10% luck. Unfortunatley you did'nt have the 10% this time. Another time you will.

Gl in the future and I am sure you will succeed to better things.

GL to all mobsters...................

nothing wrong with how you played it - you have to either shove or fold in that situation. Just ul in the end. Terrible call by your opponent btw.

Yeah definately the right play.
TT is a strong hand with only 13BB stack,so shoving all in is correct, even to a UTG raise.

What I'd recommend you though is to not look at your position during a tourney though.
The position will change alot due to the action on other tables and blinds increasing anyways,so it doesn't matter.
It'll only affect your game in a negative way.

I was playing more or less tight till that moment. I havent robbed much, and already have managed to eliminate two guys with good hands before. Here, i had in mind that, if he gave the call, it could be a race, and i was puting him with Ace sometinhg, not a pair, so i always thought i was better than him. But looking at his terrible hand for this call and that terrible table for my hand, it just made me thought in the terrible bad luck i had...
This was shorty after the second brake (2h30m) and i just changed table, so i didnt knew very well how my oponent was playing, his strategy. But feel better to see that you agree with my thoughts at that moment, that it was a good move to do at that moment.

You played correctly, simply haven't carried! Happens worse, but is more rare.

I would have made 3x the big blind raise, he probably would have called. Then on the flop I would have pushed the remaning chips in the pot... he most likely would have called that as well, so I dont think you played wrong....just unlucky..

i dont blame you for your decision, you caught the small blind tryin to steal your 800 a push was the proper move, it was about a 70/30 decision in your favour too, some people just have a horseshoe.

i wouldve done the exact same as you.
