Phil Ivey shook the poker world on Tuesday, when he released a statement that he would not be playing the 2011 World Series of Poker, and also that he filed a lawsuit against Tiltware, the software and marketing company for Full Tilt Poker.
Now, Tiltware in turn, has released a statement about the lawsuit. The company states, that "Phil Ivey’s meritless lawsuit is about helping just one player – himself".

“Contrary to his sanctimonious public statements, Phil Ivey’s meritless lawsuit is about helping just one player – himself. In an effort to further enrich himself at the expense of others, Mr. Ivey appears to have timed his lawsuit to thwart pending deals with several parties that would put money back in players’ pockets.
In fact, Mr. Ivey has been invited -- and has declined -- to take actions that could assist the company in these efforts, including paying back a large sum of money he owes the site.
Tiltware doubts Mr. Ivey’s frivolous and self-serving lawsuit will ever get to court. But if it does, the company looks forward to presenting facts demonstrating that Mr. Ivey is putting his own narrow financial interests ahead of the players he professes to help.”

This starts to get nasty. We will see if this case will go to court, but i guess Full Tilt has taken another hit and will struggle to recover from that one.

Ivey owes money to FTP??? How strange can this be? One the biggest winners of all time, leading the ranking of top money winners from this year, owing money to his main sponsor... This looks sureal! Starting reading the company's statement, i was thinking: "don't this guys know the power of social media? This move can cost them a lot, if people start talking bad of FTP position to Ivey and decide to make a campaign against FTP and stop playing there...". But after reading that Ivey owes them money, they have something as strong as a pair of aces on their side. The development of this story should be really interesting, i agree with you!

Wow never expected this to turn out like this. With the revelation of tiltware ( if its true) ivey surely has done himself no good by his statement and might end up in trouble. but hope they solve it in closed rooms instead going to court.

Said it before but ill say it again..Stupid statment. Its obvious that he has no intrest in anyone else, all you had to do was read what he wrote, for me it was a insult to poker players who DID make an effort and for those who continue to do so. It looks like he cant bluff Tiltware and think they are happy for a showdown.

Obviously something is wrong between FT and Ivey. I dont know who si wrong or who is right but i surely know that i now have one less player in Fantsay WSOP since ive picked him in BTW cash out problems continue in FT?
Hmm or maybe he is ticked off with the fact that alot of his fellow americain poker players still are yet to get there money back since black friday. He has been promoting the site for years and with this happening prehaps he believes that a company that should have the money should give the money back that dosen't belong to them. I'm sure if it had happened to any of you would call him a hero for standing up for you and your country men, and as for the bull sht public relations comment from Tiltware sounds about what any major corporations public relations people would come up with. Honestly anyone that has something bad to say about Ivey ethier gotta dead bug stuck up there A$$ or is just an americain hating goof. Really think about what would you do if your face was spread across the world for years promoting a site only to have black friday happen to your country think you could walk down the street having 300 people a day asking you when there gonna get there money. Real easy to talk Sht about something youll NEVER experience.
