I would say almost impossible, But thats me I find i play much better when i have a really big BMR and play small buy ins 25 to 1.
In other words say 20 pound is max buy in i like to have 500 bank roll I find trying to win free be tire some and time consuming but sure can be fun. #

But good luck no matter how you try

DoNs are always a good idea. Grinding with short stack strategy at the lowest possible stake is another option. But to start really from nothing, one needs good freerolls, or things like the Shasta SnGs at Everest.

I would recomend 24 hour poker for free rolls they have lots of them all day and one is for 500 euro.
On the down side you do get a lot of entries but if your patient and and good you can build up, I keep getting the odd bank roll from free there but so far i have not kept it. In fact i am in first place playing one right now after first hour but its only the 50 euro one.

But it is the best I found for free rolls so far but i dar say some will recomend others but good luck

Micro grinding, dont ever play with more than a 10th of your roll on a table or mtt... just a quick, general rule btw. tbh, id play THE smallest stakes you possibly can....bankroll management is the only way to build a really decent roll. i mean you could stick it all on an nl50 table play amazing poker and go busto... or hope to get lucky and level jump....but it wont last and you will swing down a tonne faster than swinging up...well, that goes for 99% of the population lol. GL... and get grinding. Consistency is the key my man.

I'm doing this:
On everest poker I played the shasta tables (sitNgo of 10 people for free, gives tree winners of 5, 3 and 2 cents, are limit holdem) till I got 5 cents... then I played on 4+1 cents doble or nothing... i won... got 8 cents... so the real winning is 3 cents and i keep doing that till i could play bigger buyings... the shasta tables are slow but you can play on more than one table... the others (5 cents buying) are no limit... it's nott hard to win on those tables...

On Partypoker I played freerolls and now I have $1,07 so the "strategy" here is play freerolls. there is one that gives good money (at 3:25 pm EDT)... it's a little long but it's not hard... and it gives: 1º An entry to Summer Millon ($215.-)
2º $100.-
3º $70.-
4º $50.-
5º $40.-
6º - 10º $10.-
11º - 50º $6.-
51º - 150º $3.-
151º - 300º $1.-
theres where I got 1 of the $1.07 =)

building from 0 is definitely very hard to do but many have done here, best would be to try shasta tables or join a small site with good freerolls and less players.
ndb are easy way to start but most of them are difficult to clear because of small starting amount.
gl and welcome to forum.

yeah ive made loads of money from zero to well over $50 its very easy,
it just building it up to $500 which in the past ive blown on a table not using bankroll management,
you can make money from nothink in poker if you have the time,
i wish you good luck Smile

tried to make it too many times and in fact still am lol. its not hard to gatter a few bucks from freerolls, the hard part is moving up from that successfully. grinding cash tables is the key i guess but if u can't control ur tilt ( like i usually can't) ull end up on 1st stage again and again... and again... and again...

THIS

But no need to stop at 5c, you can multi-table. Play around 10 of these at a time and afer a couple hours you should have around ~30c

From there multi-table the 5c SNGs.. If you're any good, a full day of playing should net you around ~$10

It's not fun though, IMHO - just deposit something small, say $10, and go from there...

There's where I'm now... Wasn't my intention to stop there, but for now I'm on those.... it's true, there are a lot more tables of sitngoes (micro, medium and macro).! Right now I don't have time to play a full day... Sad that's why I'm going slowly... Thumbs Down but in a firm way Thumbs Up till yesterday that I lost some money... Thumbs Down and today I couldn't play... Sad I'll try tomorrow.... Smile
good look! cya!

For sure it is hard, but can be done.
I was lucky to get a $50 No deposit bonus at Party Poker and started on the lowes cash game level.
In addition I played freerolls for sure.
Now I am at NL10 limit and builded my BR to $300 and feel very satisfied with this.

While the Shastas are a good starting point, i wouldn't play a 4+1 tourney. This is 20% in rake. Shock There are 10+1 tourneys at Everest. Try those.

Exactly what you have done, take a no deposit, cost you sweet FA, IMO that's starting from 0 invest.
Personally I think with such small BR (from ND) its best to hit micro cash tables and play extreamly tight, plenty will pay you off, make good use of points you earn. Other than that micro SnG or DoNs. GL

A lot of patience, BRM, and a bit of poker knowledge. Add some luck and a semi serious dedication to poker, and you are ready to go! Tongue
