There had been a lot of talk about U.S. players moving to Canada in order to play online (post Black Friday/pre-WSOP).
I know Daniel Negreanu had recently got a place in Toronto (but that shouldn't count since he was a Canadian living in Vegas). I had noticed on Twitter that Phil Galfond had made the move.
Anyone aware of any other big-name players heading North of the Border?

There is a way round it for USA players but it does require having access to another computer in another country. But if you do you can simply log into the other computer remotely and play on that computer the IP Will be logged from the other computer and no would be any the wiser as to what country your playing from. I am not sure how legal it would be but its very possible (use something like team viewer or VNC). Not sure how you get to withdraw your dosh as there would be a trace to your bank to but if you can get round that to should be a breeze lol
Just a thought but if anyone thinks of trying it check out the legal laws first I would suggest but just a thought. toX

Well, from the ancient time the people move the spot and seek new opportunity. It is just the way the things are. But is a moder migration for money. Life is adventure and is not worthy without riscks.

Thats a way risking your money. With just a single small mistake you can say good bye to your money and have your account locked for ever. I dont think any of the pro's at least, would take the risk.

This subject was discussed right after Black Friday, and till now i still havent had knowledge of anyone doing it. After all, looks like some of the online poker working class heroes really have done it. If it was their object of getting wage, i think they did what they have too.

It was clear that this will happen but the news that Daniel Negreanu actually got a house in canada it's really fresh, never hear it before
Phil Galfon already plays at the pokerstars tables wit Isildur and the other high stakes PLO regulars from POkerstars and it states he is located in canada indeed
I also heard jungleman12 was invited to live next to him, so that will be really interesting to see

Instead of going north why not going south? i mean, better weather, sunny beaches and in the days everything goes wrong and u only lose online, at least you'll have a nice view to clear ur head
I can get an entrance visa stamp on my passport to enter the US and stay for up to six months as a tourist. After six months I must return to Canada for 48 hrs. I can then return to the US if they allow me for another six months. These same rules apply here in Canada. The idea here is to apply for residency status for the country in which you want to live. In the meantime you must show the movements between the two countries at the approiate time intervals. Working legally is a whole other issue as well. Don't get caught without the proper documentation. You'll get bounced in a hurry and the tourist visa will never be renewed again.
Danial thinks on line poker is a joke so he must have moved for sponsorship reasons?

It's pretty funny what happend to daniel cates actually, and i must agree with flippedchips here, from what i read on his interviews jungleman always said he considers the online poker a way to make money...
Which is pretty sad actualy, i know many of the top players love the game first of all. of course winning is good but this shouldn't be the motivation of playing poker
Still, it would be col to see him joining the action at pokerstars but from what i know he doesn't play plo...
