Hey all,

Unfortunately HighPulse made a small "copy/paste" error of yesterday's tournament. Obviously they have their hands full at the moment with the new launch and all, so mistakes happen. We are setting up a new €500 on the 21st as a replacement for tonights freeroll. Tonights freeroll does NOT count towards the leader board (for obvious reasons).

So basically 85 "clever" players just got a €500 freeroll tonight - at least that is good Smile

GL in the remaining freerolls, we will be sure to check that this does not happen again!

Awesome, thank you MobManager, as I mentioned in another thread, "We couldn't ask for anything more". As usual BRM has proved to be honest and accountable.

Genuinely thank you.

Just out of curiosity, is High Pulse eating the 500Euros for that tournament kafuffle?

Nice abpout those who figured it out...BUT I did too !!!
I just couldnt open the page on Bankrollmob to try it.
Damn ! I was pissed because I was SO sure the mistake was copying yesterdays password and forgetting to change it when setting up the Tournament.

Just this morning I posted that the site is too "heavy".

Looks like what I thought would happen did.
The site was overloaded by people trying to log in.
Why don´t you seriously try to reduce the "flashy + pop-up" pages and go back to being a visually appealing and decently working site?
These pages are just too heavy to load and obviously the Server feels the same.

BankrollMob has now definitely become the most difficult site to load bar none.

My connection is not great, but that is exactly why I can see which sites are too heavy.
And honestly, BRM is the only one I cannot load while I play or the tables "disconnect".
I hope something gets done about it by someone who knows what he´s doing, because overloading pages like this is not the way to go in webdesign.

I mean all this as "positive" criticism, because BRM is still my main go-to site above all else. Blink

this is not fair...

not fair? how is a site generously making tournys and giving u a FREE chance to win FREE money not fair? i think ppl should be more greatful, the only one this is unfair to is bankrollmob, doin a nice thing and gettin s**t on for it....sounds like a bad marriage

"So basically 85 "clever" players just got a €500 tonight - at least that is good "

But a lot of these "clever" players were registered BEFORE you released todays password.
So they should know yesterday's pass is active, couse it was not displayed today.
I don't know who's foult, but I'm not going to deposit any money at High Pulse for now.

those people who managed to register had more inteligence then other and that is important thing in poker right? Sooo... Tease

what has that to do with intelligence, just to be curious. 1. password was wrong. 2. BRM wasn´t reachable in time 3. Some "intelligent" ppl seems to know this before hand, there were early registrations before the common password releasing time

suspicious. but for real I dont give a f... Its a present from brm and the site, so what. its just a bit annoying to see those things happen again and again on those formats, if theres a bit more money on the line (i.e. ps). for matter of fairness these points shouldnt count to lb, but they should keep there winnings. it was easy money for them, so that should be enough.

Ill try and "collect" on the questions in the thread Smile

@Arith: Yes HighPulse is going to pay for the extra freeroll - so Kudos to them Smile

@IslandJack: Ill have a chat with Tony tomorrow, see if we can stack in some extra servers or whatever we can do - obviously our site should be accessible to everyone in a "good pace"!

@Jaromma: Registration opens 30mins before on HighPulse, my guess is that someone tried the previous passwords, figured out 1 was working and shared it somewhere - hence the registrations before we released the password. However - the password will not be wrong again, so the last free rolls, there will not be anyone registering before we release the pass Smile

The banners etc. has nothing to do with our server and server load. They are all hosted elsewhere, so our server would not be running any faster or slower whether the banners are there or not. But it will/might feel as such for the end-user, because no matter where the banners are coming from, the end-users browser will still have to download them and display them.

What happened yesterday, was a stupid cache bug in the Mob account page where it displays 15 latest forum threads. The Mob account page is usually where most people go when they login, so obviously it has a lot of pageviews during peak times. And because of the wrong password yesterday, the forum was constantly being updated, meaning the "15 latest forum threads" would constantly change, so - not on every pageview (login), but on most - it would have to pull them again. This could actually take up to a few seconds, times many, many users doing it at the same time, meaning the database server became overloaded and the whole site could end up taking several minutes to load.

What I did last night when I figured it out, was to optimize that section so that - whenever the forum has changed, it no longer takes a few seconds for the 15 threads to be pulled, it's almost instant. And if the forum has not changed since last time it was pulled, it's cached and loaded instantly. I immediately saw a huge drop in the database CPU load after I uploaded the changes, so I would be surprised if it happens again - and if it does, then it's probably something else that I didn't notice and I'll have to catch and fix that too Smile

Please forgive me! My first reply in this thread was actually meant as sarcasm, I have no idea whos fault it is, obviously. I guess it is just my English sense of humour, I forgot that sarcasm was not understood outside of the UK! Tongue

I thought your posts were quite funny, and I have only been in the UK for a few hours when I changed planes on my way to Ireland. Must have caught some bug there...

That's awesome, mad props to them for paying out a tournament they didn't have to. I figured they might though, they're definitely too new to risk bad PR, especially with Mobsters.

Good job Tony, I figured that yesterdays massive amount of traffic had something to do with it (Yes, I am Captain Obvious). Wouldn't have guessed the second part though. Keep up the good work.

FYI, right now there's actually a few more users online than two days ago when the site was taking minutes to load - and now there's almost no change in the load times, so I'd say the problem has been solved.

EDIT: Actually there's a lot more users online right now, when the password for High Pulse was JUST released, almost twice as many compared to two days ago.
