surprising hand in a micro buy in tournament  0
so i get KQ off suit in a mid position and decide to limp and raise big if it gets raised (unsure why i decided to go about the hand this way but it is what it is)
button raises 3x and small flats leaving me to put in my planned re raise.(pot committing myself)
buttom flat calls and the small blind doubles my bet putting me all in and leaving them both with very little.
flop comes J-J-5 sb bets a little button flats (im assuming at this point im crushed or can maybe luck out)
turn is a nine again a small bet and call (pretty much all hope for me gone at this point thinking maybe the ten is good if they havent boated yet)
river is a 3 sb bets enough to put the button all in (which is at this point not much more)
button turns over K-10 and wins his little side pot with his king ten kicker and pair of jacks
the guy betting the whole way in the small turns over K-6 and gets nadda like he should.
and my lovely pair of jacks with the king queen kicker takes the main pot and i tripple up

Haha I love that s**t. My favourite is when I make a terrible bluff, get called and still win.

Wow. Donk on donk violence. Shock

Your KQ is way overplayed, but KT and K6? Aggression is good in poker, but those guys just overdid it.

What is the difference between freeroll and microstake buy in tournament.
Right answer is micro buy in, all the other is same. Sometimes at 1/2c tables you see even worst play than playmoney tables.
You did play the hand bad, but luckily you got 2 complete donks for opponent. Congratz

Would neve, NEVER!!!! post such a Hand! Would be happy inside, but shamed to tell that.
But that´s mikro donking. That has nothing to do with serious Poker.

ya maybe wasnt the best play on my part but in the particular situation either a weird play like i did or just flat fold was right play. and imo flat folding king queen when your first to act is foolish

Hi pokershark74.

Seems imposible but that kind of player exist, thank poker God. Good pot for you, shame for the other. In any way don't seem the better way to play KQ in middle, a standard raise works better than a strange limp (i said i hate limpers?).

Very nice hand. The two opponents were trying to send you home sooner, since you had less chips, but they ended up find against each other (although not that hard, because the bets after you went all-in were lower) to see who could input his bluff in the other. Both kept stick on their hands and then, they also must have laughed about it when they saw you winning the main pot with that hand.

Yeah what he said lol.

Man thats horrid betting, you could only have been getting well beat or been getting bluffed at and have no way of knowing. The call of such a large reraise is where you went wrong (even though you ended up winning this one).

At micro limits don't expect any technical play to pay off either - you're going to get showdowns all day.

if he was to add stack sizes and bet sizes their is a chance he was sandbagging or trying to get into a pot with max return. If he is as short as he says he is and has decided to risk slow playing an "allin pre type" hand thats his prerogative.

If i had less then 10bb's i may just dive there.

Micro Stakes are actually on average worse then freerolls. I mean who chooses to stay and play at micros? noone thats who. Micro Cash games are mostly a sick joke being played by weirdos. MTT play is alot different because you can easily bully people in micros if you can find a read on scared money. The chance someone is going to snadbag you is unlikely but does happen but after some time watching you can find who is capable of what.

Canada is in eastern Europe now? If you're going to insult someone at least make it relevant lest you come off as a buffoon when im sure that is not the desired effect. Also the title of the thread says "surprise" not "how to be a boss at poker" jus saying guys
