Been working in a casino for years now..at the poker tables a common story is your first hand of the world series..you are an amateur player and they buy-in has been hard earnt and its a week you've been savin up for years...
First hand to you're suprise you see AA in your hand..there is a little raise and then someone pushes all in another guy calls..do you call? first hand of athe world series? a lot of people have said they would fold and wait for a definate pot win as they've saved for so long for this tourney and dont wanna be knocked out straight up in the first hand..

the whole thing of poker is to go in with the best hand.. once youve done that then you can say you were unlucky.. i mean i can see it both ways but at that point in time you AA is the best there is... what happens after that is outta your control. the only way to have a :definate pot win" is to have the nuts after the river card is dealt.. how often does that happen? so if you wait for the your gonna let the blinds eat you alive

If two guys calls, then you can assume that they've got pocket kings or worse, AK suited. Why worse? Cause If they've both got AKs then you're at a disadvantage. SO for this one, I'll fold, but if only one pushes all in then nobody calls, then probably I'll call.
your off your mind im2good4u, go and run that hand through a simulator.
In AA vs AKs vs AKs AA is still an 80% favourite, but this time to triple up, and that is just one possible situation, they could both have KK and then they are close to drawing dead, the worst situation to be in would be AA v AA v KK, just because the KK is still in the same situation, but this time if your aces hold up you dont double up, you just get an extra 50 percent
------------ which casino you work in shoe shiner, sky city our elsewhere
was at chch.. it would be a tough call..ok you could be up against qq and kk..or any other pocket pair,,so if they hit your packing your bags for a long trip back to nz..the thought of that would make me fold..and you aint gonna win the world series with the first hand so i wouldnt take the small risk of aces getting cracked.
I dont think anyone would call an all in first hand with QQ so i dont think that them having KK and QQ would be likely, just personally i would expect more from the WSOP.
what your saying about not wanting to take the chance of getting your aces cracked goes to show why its a really bad idea to play out of your limits, if your sitting at the table with scared money you mite as well just pack your bags right away. because if you cant call all in with AA then how are you going to ever steal blinds to stay alive late in the tourney, or ever have the gumption to put someone on a bluff

I won SnG first hand when 5 others were allin first hand, all aces and almost all kings and queens were out. I went allin with 8 -9 only because there were 5 callers. Ofcourse i won the hand. Two pairs. For this situation i would probably go allin but who knows i would really have to be on that particular table.

i would call every time no questions about it, at the end of the day poker is gambling and your either gonna win or lose there is nothing you can do about it but with AA you have an advantage so to fold would be insane whether its the world series or not... cmon if you was playing in the world cup and the first game you got a penalty would you not want to take it incase you missed and your team went out? ALL IN ALL IN ALL IN!! lol
I think you would have no choice there with AA in hand, you have to call and hope you win. It's better to be knocked out early than late and not finish in the money.

I had I an experience like this.
Start of the tournament. It was live btw. prizepool was more then 500k.
I played 2 or 3 hands and I received QQ. I was midle position and I raise 4xbb.
An old man calls on small blind.
floop was 2 5 4 Something like this.
the blind was like level 1. and he over bet all in. before I could do anything.
Well.. I fold. but 1hr later. everybody in the table saw he was an newbie hehe...

its an easy call 100% u have the best hand why fold the best hand.
but there is a time i would fold AA preflop in a super satellite when eight players win seats, there are 9 players remaining, and a player with more chips than you moves all-in, i think it would be right to fold pocket aces. why risk bubbling when u are almost gauranteed a ticket. but if it was a short stack i would insta call.
