The PokerStars European Poker Tour Sanremo Main event is down to a final table of 8. Inge Forsmo, the Day 2 and 3 chip leader from Norway, is not among the finalist. He lost 2 big pots at the beginning of Day 5 and was eliminated in 23rd place. Jason Tompkins, the winner of Day 4, made it to the final table, though. Tompkins will bring 3.6 million chips (third place) to the final table.

Inge Forsmo wasn’t able to deal with the pressure. When reaching first place soon in a tourney where the competition level is very high, either one get lucky on the table he gets, meaning his direct opponents at the table of the tourney, or things can get tricky. Smaller stacks, even if they aren’t still short, tend to only play a hand when they feel confident enough to, if necessary, go all in with it, and that can be prejudicial to a chip leader. Looks like this happened two times with Inge Forsmo and it was enough to send him home sooner than he was probably expecting.
