The Austrian Poker Festival will run alongside the Vienna Mind Sports Festival and give people the chance to test their intellectual mettle across a range a games, including: chess, backgammon, bridge and, of course, poker. Taking place between February 12 and 25, 2013, the festival's flagship tournament will be the €3,500 WPT Vienna Main Event.

ok this is actually a good idea- say you bust out of a poker tournament due to a bad beat, so instead on taking you sh1t on the poker colleagues you go to a chess tourney find some skinny dude with 2x size glasses and tell him what you think about chess players and have a nice, intellectual chat overall

Dude i like that idea.
I play chess and backgammon and several other games as well. I admit poker is my primary love but I do play other games. If I was in this tournament and busted out early have the option to play in another type of gaming tournt would be nice.
I think it is a great idea to link events together.

I remember someone posting about this last year so I guess this is some kind of annual event or am I thinking about something else? No matter it would be nice to visit some year to see what it's all about. Are you going to be participating in any of the events or activities?
