Some of Europe's finest players will meet in Paris but, for once, chips won't be on the menu. Instead, a gastronomic feast of Michelin starred cuisine will be on offer as the GPI European Poker Awards takes place inside the Aviation Club de France. Honouring the most impressive and consistent performers of 2012, the ceremony will host some of the game's most recognisable faces. One player who is guaranteed at least two awards is Marvin ' xcrash154' Rettenmaier. Thanks to an outstanding year in 2012, the German pro has been named European Player of the Year and Germany's Player of the Year.

I’m an European, although not German, but i never heard about Marvin ' xcrash154' Rettenmaier. I did some reaearch and I found he won $480k on a €10K NLHE High Roller in December, plus §288k on WPT Merit Cyprus Classic Main Event, just to point two of his biggest winnings during last year. This guy must be good… kidding, of course he is, very good player!!!

Pretty interesting, i always liked the fact that poker it's more than a simple game, it's really a way of life and here i don't talk only about high rollers.
I only heard about Marvin on a pokernews section but it must be pretty good considering the prizes he won

Great night inside the Aviation Club de Paris for the GPI-sponsored European Poker Awards. As reported , Marvin ' xcrash154' Rettenmaier was in line for two awards, but he wasn't the only being recognised. While Marvin scooped the European Player of the Year title, Jens ' JensKyllonen' Kyllonen and ' olekonjole' were also honoured. After finishing as Europe's biggest online winner (and second overall) in 2012, Jens won the award for Internet Player of the Year. ' olekonjole' then claimed the Rookie of the Year title ahead of Aubin Cazals, Gaelle Baumann (WSOP 2012 final table bubble girl) and Lucille Cailly, thanks to his two major titles in 2012. Also picking up awards were Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Roberto Romanello and PokerStars, for their European Poker Tour.
