The €550 main event takes place between January 31 and February 3. It boasts a 50,000 starting stack and a 60-minute clock. It takes place at the Regency Hotel in Dublin. Last year Christiaan Vanzieleghem of Belgium defeated 589 other hopefuls in this event and took €53,065 after a three way deal. Although it takes place in Dublin, this is a distinctively International event with a whole host of players from mainland Europe, including a huge contingent from France who make it every year.

Last year’s field was really big, with 590 players, do you really believe this number can be beaten this year? I see that French players have a lot of interest on that event, but do they fill more than half of that field? €550 is a nice value, giving the possibility to many amateurs to give it a try.
