Day 3 of EPT Deauville must have been really tight. Having a novice leading at this point doesn’t mean nothing, he might have played a couple of good hands that put him in that position and, from now on, facing a crash on the stack because of similar hands that don’t result in the same way. But it already should be great for him to know that he’s standing on the top while so well-known names have already abandoned. Must be a great feeling!

Just 23 players remain, most of them French, in EPT Deauville Just three tables remain in EPT Deauville following a day 4 which saw most of the big names fall. Samuel Grafton, Lucien Cohen, Matthew Frankland and Jason Koon were all among the casualties, leaving Irish Open champion James Mitchell as one of the few well-known players remaining. One player who could well be a big name by the end of the week is Cyril Andre, who leads a top five of French players looking for a home win in Deauville.
