@magatt- lmfao: i imagine berlusconi as pope...probably he would bring in his models to Vatican, would be a never ending orgy...
imo it's a total gamble to guess who the next pope is gonna be, when u take a gamble pre-season, who is gonna win the title (football), you at least have some sort of info to back your claim...now it's just red or black bet on roulette...

If you tell me where I can place my bet I'd put some money on Angelo Scola, the actual archbishop of Milan. He is tenant in a house, not where he lives daily but only a "holyday" one, owned by a person I know quite well (true fact even if not related to my prediction about him as a pope). His name was among the ones from which the current pope was chosen and again his name his there (or at least is what my friend told me).
In that bunch of names there are also an Austrian cardinal spokesman of a reformist line (I would give him lower chance for this reason ...you know how the churh work), a Filipino, an American, a Brasilian of German descent and a French/Canadian (or Canadian/French as you like).
I think it's time for an Italian pope.
Btw: he's the dude with the red hat.....so bet all on red

very convincing...but i heard in the local news, that next pope might be some black guy (don't remember his name)- so maybe a bet on the black doesn't look that bad too...
Don't forget to place bets on how long it takes to elect the new pope. You can't really call yourself a gambler if you don't try to make as many bet on the topic as possible. You can also bet on the day of the week when the new pope is elected or how about the weather in Rome when the new pope is announced. There's also the real biggy, the name the new pope will select upon becoming pope.

The best bet here would have been someone betting that he will resign, and not dying while crowned. Who would have thought about that, after all the 600 years of history with them. Ive read the last one resigned was on 1415.

I believe it's worth betting on jess! I don't knowif this is a tip for anyone or how well it's supported, but I listen to a lot of talk radio on ny drive to work each day which is about an hour each way. Anyway they were interviewing some communicator whom represents the Cardinals and the Catholic Church. This person was saying the new Pope will definitely be coming out of one of the European countries and it was leaning toward some Bishop or something like that from Italy.
Don't know if that's got any truth or fact to this info, but it is what they were discussing.

We already have had two black smokes. I guess almost everyone should know the colour of the smokes coming out oh the Sistine Chapel is the way to communicate if we have a new pope (white smoke: habemus) or not (black smoke).
This afternoon there will be two more votings: so do you bet on black smoke or white one?
Will we be able to say "habemus papam" today?
Who will be the new pope?
Will we have a white smoke for a black pope?
Which is your guess?
Want to bet some mob points?
I'd like very much to see dressed in white the Capuchin from Boston O'Malley. Its nationality doesn't favour him but I like his vision of the world:reluctant to bear the powerful of the earth, the "strong powers" and the corporations. In short words a third world supporter made in USA.

I haven't seen anything related with this on the betting sites i used to go, but i haven't searched for it, it may be there and i haven't seen. If i would make a bet on this, i would go for something simple. I guess this time is probable to be an Italian. Just because one the italians that may be nominee is also one of the youngers, and this time that may be one of the factors of the choice, regarding the justification of Ratzinger to leave the place.
