PokerStars end bum-hunting  0
PokerStars has decided to implement a 30 second shutdown rule on inactive tables.
In practice this means that if a player is sat at a table where no action is taking place, they are removed after 30 seconds and the table is closed.
The new system came into play at selected tables a few days ago and so far players have reacted positively to the move.
In a post on 2+2 "PokerStars Steve" confirmed the changes and further explained that they also plan to "disable the ability for players to sit out at tables that are not dealing."
One point that was stressed in the post was that these new rules do not apply to heads-up tables.

Thats a fair solution to the ones playing at an active play, but so far i never minded
sitting at a table like this and getting a very nice stack from all the sit outs Smile
A very fast and safe way to build a stack and move further.
But fair is fair, as they say!

I think it's more ment for cashgames. Still it should be made for heads-up because it won't affect 6max that much.

It's a great implement for heads-up and fullring tables though.

It's a good move if you ask me, i mean on all poker forusm out there i saw more and more threads lately about this problem.

I guess Pokerstars has ears in the right places and shortly it came up with this solution which is great Smile

well I like to be bum-hunting but anyway, hold'em manager can,t work on pkerstar so it's not like 888 where you can sit out and record player info.. so I don't see the point of this new rule.

I wouder, with this new rule if you sit a table and wait for the bb but it take more than 30 secondes, are you kicked out of the table?

I hope they don't do that to the Hubble freerolls.... Quite often I find myself as the ONLY guy at the table and it's CLEAN UP time....

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........ just LOAD right up on chips and more easily get a ticket to the weekly freeroll.... Big Smile Thumbs Up

I don't know how they could apply this rule to MTT's. It would only seem to apply to the entire tournament not individual tables. Also, I haven't noticed this having any effect at MTT's I have been playing on Pokerstars so far.

PS PokerStars' announced another potential update designed to stop ratholing.
Ratholing is when a player wins some money then instantly leaves the table and joins another one with less money.
While the problem has been difficult to tackle in recent years, PokerStars thinks they may have come up with a solution following a recent player meeting.
In a post on 2+2, "PokerStars Steve" said that the system they are working on would assign a player a "stack identity".
This tag would force them to buy-in at another table for a minimum amount based on the stack size they left their previous table with.
Implementing such a system is proving to be tricky, but PokerStars are currently doing everything possible to "get the solution ready to go over the summer".

....and while they're at it,....they can implement a system that recognizes multiple accounts coming from 1 one computer...

...if somebody can use 5 accounts to register in various tournaments,...then what's to stop them from registering 1 or 2 or 3 or so accounts into various OTHER types of game formats......and take EVERYBODY's money unfairly by cheating.... Angry

That will definitely stop many players in micro limits which they play lotto.
They buy in the minimum pick a hand and go all in with it.
If they lose, most of the times they rebuy , if they win,
they vanish and do so in another table Smile
