The 44th Annual World Series of Poker

Last year the WSOP awarded $222,045,377 in prizes across 61 events, culminating in Greg Merson being crowned World Champion, Six Max Champion and Player of the Year.

And who could forget the other big event of the 2012 WSOP, Antonio Esfandiari taking down the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop for $18,346,673 - the biggest buy-in and prize in poker history.

Yeah I wish I could watch this on the net or tube live, but it won't happen. As for Antonio, I always liked to watch him, Vanessa Selbst, Doyle Brunson and a few others play on High Stakes poker.

The Mobsters used to post all the High Stakes episodes in the forum for some of us to watch since it's the only way I could see the show. I miss those days!

I've been listening to the whole final table of the big one for one drop last year. Great show by esfandieri and he really diserved that title, got lucky against Guy Laliberté on a major hand late in the tourney but played his game all the way. Only thing that bother me was those broadcaster keeping saying that laliberté is playing anyhow just because he's a billionaire, what a stupid call

Took me a few minutes to think where I've heard of Guy Laliberte before,...but not only is he the owner of Cirque du Soleil,....but the lucky bastard bought himself a trip to the International Space Station a few years a go for a mere $20,000,000 or so (peanuts).... I wish I could afford that,..... Angry
