Do you know how to stop Chrome from updating?
Lately it messes things up.
Previous update messed the default language spelling, which i set every time in English.
After some point it turns by itself in Greek and no matter what there is no option to put English
as the default one again. The only solution is to Uninstall and install again. Annoying.
Tried a couple solutions that i found on the net, but they dont work.
Disabled the updates through plugins and did a registry change with a "fix". Nothing

The last one couple of days ago altered the appearance of the new tab page.
They put up a huge Google logo and a search bar.
The most visited pages now are some tiny icons were you have hard time to see.
When you search over that bar, the terms go automatically in the search bar, and stored some
how.
So when i try to write a the address for a site that starts with the same letter as a previous
search it come up lol.

As that wasnt enough now the Google logo vanished completely along with the search bar,
and im left with the tiny icons for most visited Smile

Really annoying......

Any ideas how to stop it from future updates?

Solution for the tiny icons: get a bigger screen lol

Imk, i was also surprised today when i turned on the pc and saw the change in the main page coz last night i didn't even notice any update ( usually it slows down my pc so much its hard to do anything else till it finishes really).
From the last update i also noticed that the automatic translator started screwing up in some sites and also cannot find a solution for it. They should apply an option to at least tell you what they are going to update before doing it so you could decide if you need/want it or not.. Annoying to say the least Mober... lets see what the next update will bring...

When Chrome first came out a lot of my IT friends and colleagues raved about it so I took a look at a lot of the comments on lots of different forums.

In the end I didn't install it because the most common complaint/problem on those forums was that it wasn't possible to turn off automatic updates.

As far as I am concerned, the only one who gets to decide what's on my computer is me.

Had some free time earlier today and did an extended search about this.
No one seems to have found a 100% working solution.
I dont know if it is possible to do it with a firewall from an antivirus program.
I like chrome the most but with one more crappy update like this im changing.
