the kids just got a Xbox one for Christmas. the games in the shops are about 45/50 pounds . can anyone emplane why it should cost 55 to download the same game you get less when you download like no box you cant trade them in and no shop to pay. i think they should cost less.

I am in no way giving a speech on justifying overpriced entertainment products, but vidya games tend to be pretty friggin expensive to be made (not the factory part of course, rather the process before it).
And Microsoft never was a price is right champion to begin with.
The same downloadable content could become made cheaper over time or in part of a bundle package, but the thing is they tried to effing up the secondary market for these games before the new gen. console release and the fan backlash was so extreme, they figured out it wasnt worth it. And since they do not get payed in any single way on the secondary market (when somebody trade or resell on ebay his/her old game) they jacking up the prices of the games u buy in the first place - building the resell value into their worth, so they can payed twice for the same content.

That is some really 101 economics, if your kids became a couple years older try to get them on checking out the valve's steam machine (I think 2-3 years of time that is gonna be huge in the gaming market), steam has better pricing strategies and plenty more deals anyway and their gaming rig gonna be good, really-really good in the future in terms of value.
