I think It would make sense if you try to articulate better what you want to say.

Bots should be really easy and predictable. No computer is capable of doing anything creative so bots should be predictable and easy to exploit. I would choose to sit at table with 8 bots over sitting with 8 good regs anytime. So, dont worry about bots, worry about your game and leave sites to worry about them.

Yes that's right, they are predictable but designed to play multi-table; based their "style" of playing on mathematical odds probability and movement patterns.

It could happens at egzotic pokerroms, because I think they dont care as much their reputation as big brands do. Secondly their probably won't have such a huge amount of employers to monitor the software.

I've seen some movies that presented functionality of above bots; but don't sure it was real or fake movie.

IMO they exist but mostly on poor pokerroms.

actually just in pokerstars I read some stuff that there were players that played exactly the same and huge amount of hours (cash games) that they were suspected of being bots.. dont know how that investigation ended but there were lot of graphs and proofs made, or at least I think it was proof Smile

Agree with Jovi (and hey again, long time no see). The only real advantage bots have is they can play 24/7 without getting tired. They definitely don't out play good players and as stated good players can figure out how to exploit them.

I have had my suspicions that a few players i have played against over the years have been bots. I find this an easier way to win money because they always seem to do the same things, i have no problem with bots but what enjoyment do the people using them have?

imho bots only have an upper hand against human players in fixed limit games, since those games are easy enough to program a bot to play "the right way", meanwhile in nl/pl games people outsmart the bots with their unprecedented level of stupidity, therefore if you play nl/pl you are safe.

i am glad that they dont play nl/pl than ,they have ban all that kind of morons ,u have to win fair or ban Tongue
i think they still exist only for me its diffecult to know when 1 is a bot or not Confused

Jovi, got it right, poker is a very complex game and has luck involved compared to games like chess where a bot(pc) can beat any human easily.

If that is the case you can indeed exploit them since i do not think a bot programmer would ever be able to learn bots to bluff.

I have had lots of discussions about the effectiveness of bots, and i always come to the same conclusion which is very simple. Poker is more psychological and bots can only be programmed to take certain actions in certain spots, so a good player will never lose to bots (except bad luck)

Although there may not be a program that can beat the best players at the moment, I wouldn't bet on that remaining the case.

For online poker to be in jeopardy of being spoiled by bots, a program just needs to be good enough to beat average players. The program could take advantage of hand histories, odds calculations, ICM etc...

Also, you can't be sure who your opponents are online; you may not be able to tell you're playing against a bot. There may even be some kid operating the chat window, that barely knows how to play, letting the program do the work, while he provides the human facade...

That being said, it may be hard to write a successful bot, although at low stakes you see a lot of players that simply play every hand by the book, and make a profit; a job that a computer program should easily be better at, than any human...

A bot should also be really good at avoiding players that can beat it...

I don't think any site allows them. I think they should be easy to beat as well, they probaby would be very nitty and win small amounts at a time
If they keep referring to you as "human" in conversation, i'd say it's probably a bot...or an alien Big Smile

I don't know enough about computers to comment on whether or not bots are placed at tables either by shady people or pokersites,....but I will say that I have been accused by players in the:

demodawggy's BrM/PokerStars All In Shootout Donk-Festival.....lol...

...for constantly shoving EVERY hand in EVERY tourney until dead...

Other than calling me EVERY name in the book, some people chat stuff like,....:

"It's got to be a bot",...or "Definately a bot",....etc... Big Smile< lol....

Once I get knocked out I type into the chat box:

ERROR ERROR BOT MALFUNCTION BOT MALFUNCTION

Then they say stuff like:

"See,...I told you it was a bot...."

Big Smile< ahahahhahahahahAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHahahahahhahahaaaaa........!
