Hi guys, in this thread I wanna discuss about "fish", what does it exactly mean?

If fish means someone who got lucky while others have more percentage, then tell me poker player who never got lucky in his entire life

If "fish" means someone who played with bad starting hand, then I saw some poker called "pros" also did such thing

Do you agree with me?Tell me your opinion

A fish is indeed a weak player, a shark is the opposite, a pro.

These players stand out a mile at the tables and if you cant see them that means that you are the fish!!! I consider fishes as players who call raises with nothing and then call down to the river hoping to get lucky when it makes no mathematical sense

You are correct. Calling stations are just another type of fish though but are the most annoying to play against if the table are filled with them. Just don't knock the fish tank.

I dont think it refers to someone who is weak.
That is not the meaning for when you use that term in general after all and
i doubt its different for poker.
It goes for someone who took the bait, someone who got bluffed.
Thats my opinion of course, but many are using it to describe the weak poker players.

Fish is somebody you can make money off of easily who do not know how to play poker properly at least not the basics and doing beginner's mistake. It does not necessarily means he has to be new, he can play regularly and sill be a fish as he does not play good and give out money easily. But people tends to call them weaks regulars. Anyway have fun getting money off poker players that are fishes!! Cheers mate have fun!

It's basically the definition of a weak player, i mean a donk that bets all the time cannot be called a fish...

A fish is the best source of profit for regular players at a specific limit. I think you can say a fish is also an unexperienced player Blink
