giving our money and your money away is it worth it  -2
i think poker is a waste of time and money and a rubbish game .when you think about the hundreads of players you have to beat is it worth all that time and effort , after all ask your self a question are you gonna lose , most of the time you will all lose ,and will contiue to lose at poker , to much to be sat around for hours , who ever invented poker should be shot , its a waste of time , perhaps people or you lot wana sit down for a chance to win pennies for hours what a waste of time ,i consider myself a very good player depositing 50$ and takeing a cash out of 759$ .also people are you gonna win big , be realistic that answer is gonna be no , and iam glad aswell that i got out of poker as it has to be the worlds most boring game ever , and the time man ,time to kiss poker good bye .all the hype its a worlds fast growing sport, poker is in decline and waste of time effort and money .all the hype about what sunglasses old men with bear bellys ,and people who have no sense like they do with their money , i had sense and got out with a profit , what a load of rubbish the poker greats daniel fossilman, phil ivey, who are they , nobody same as you lot giveing money away, and byee from me

Everyone has a choice, and if people choose to play for whatever reason they have, it must be respected. If you chose to stop, hey, hope you do what makes you happy and you become very successful doing whatever you choose to do.

As for a waste of time, it is mere opinion. Some people say running is a waste of time, and people who run say it does great deals for mind and body. So who are we to judge peoples likes and dislikes?

As for money, if you work for it, you might as well spend it on your likings, rather than give it all to the govermnment so they can repair the same roads the runners use!

Basically it is a question of passion for something. I rather spend 2 hours sitting down playing poker than watching a movie for example. That's just me.

I understand your point of view, I respect it too, but unless you are concerned with people who actually have a gambling problem and try to guide them to get some help before they blow their children's college money away, I believe you chose the wrong place to go against the tide. We all love poker here, so as far as your comments, you might not get such a positive feedback.

Anyway, you have the right to express yourself, so people, let's not crucify or disrespect this man, because after all, it is just opinion.

Take care...

My opinion is don't come here preaching about other people wasting their time because you decided it isn't worth your time to do something.

I personally feel I am a good player also but it doesn't translate to online poker but the hours and hours I have spent playing live tourneys have been well rewarded. I personally like to get out and socialize as a card player. That being said I do not show up to any game to lose and I like the idea that $20 can potentially turn into several hundred and I have done this on various occasions.

Although I have no problem with you expressing your opinion freely I do not feel that a site for people who passionately enjoy the game of poker is a good place for it. It is a rubbish game in your opinion that you say you have done pretty well with and as far all those nobodies you speak of go: have you ever won millions? Are you on television every other day playing for hundreds of thousands in cash? Would you be recognized anywhere outside of your own town? They might be nobodies to you but to the rest of us who passionately enjoy playing they are the level we strive to reach.

So you can take your profit and go because the world of poker is better off.

Cheers

If poker bores you, dont play it. Others may enjoy the games.

Poker can be boring from time to time, but one can mix it up. Cash or tourney, fullring, shorthanded or headsup. Other games instead of holdem. Those changes can make it more exiting.

It can be a nice way to make some money, but even if you play it as a hobby it is nice. Other hobbys will surely cost you money. In poker there is at least hope to win some cash, or play break even.

Very strange that you join a site than promotes poker, and as a first post tell ppl how much you hate it, is this some joke, So far using no-deposits iv not spent 1 penny, I used to play for free and decided to play real as the play tends to be better, you mistake effort for fun if it is an effort for you then its not a game you will enjoy, reguardless of what type of fun you choose if it a competitive one at some stage you will lose does this suggest that we should all quit everthing.
I think you miss the whole point of this game, FUN, I dont understand why you deposit money in to a game you hate, thats a waste of time and money
Who is phil ivey, lmfao, gotta be a joke thread, wish I was the same as him.

Of Course...

That's why Your so fed up with poker.... Smile

I think You must be really frustrated about poker and I guess,
that`s because You are mainly loosing.

YOu just can't stand that
"sunglasses old men with bear bellys ,and people who have
no sense like they do with their money" are beating YOU.

BTW, as a native english speaker it should concern You
that Your post is the only one here with a lack of proper english.

omg yeah! XD just replace the old men with sunglasses with young nerds with thick glasses!

actually you can say something negative about everything. family sucks, beeing single sucks, sport sucks, overweight sucks, poker sucks, bingo sucks, backgammon sucks, WoW sucks...

its all about the right balance i think and our pal from the first post gave us a good reminder how frustrated one can be when he finds himself playing more poker then he really (and i mean REALLY ) enjoys. what about everyone having one day off poker at the weekend, posting here what he/she did with it? Smile ( i had a few days without much poker recently tho. i need that sometimes.)

and next weeek we come and take over the tables with refreshed pokerbatteries! Sleepy

He probably went broke in a sick manner, that's why he did ... anyway I think that he should have really respected that we enjoy playing poker ...

I'm in no way defending the original posters writing style or manner in which he posted but lets take a more marure approach to what he is possibly meaning .
OnlinePoker can undoubtedly be a boring game sometimes waiting for long periods for to get worthy starting hands ,so much so that it forces us to play less chance hands and usually costing us dearly so he is right on that score .then he says most of us will lose ,well the general figure out there for consistently profitable players is just 16% so he's right again. As far as just throwing money away online i have began to wonder as i've been reading about "Bots "programes that muti table and play you'r hands at the table ,i've read that although not hugely successfull at the present within 4 years they will far surpass any human performance at the table. Also there is programes being merchandised online that can see all the hole cards at the table AMAZING.Reading what is being done about internet cheats i have read that not one single site has ever done anything passed cancelling an account and withholding the proceeds,NO PROSECUTIONS and where does these proceeds go ,not back to the players thats for sure.So no body in the bissiness cares as long as they get their Rake and as long as they get that they will leave cheats unpunished .So all in all is he right about us just throwing money away, is internet poker just like the fair ground stalls where people used to cue up trying to win things that eventually people realized because of the different sinarios of them stalls the odds were always stacked against them and so kept their money in their pockets .
And finnally is it ,because of unfavourable odds and unpunished cheats time for the honest online poker players to kiss online poker goodbye untill us the players force the bussiness to put a justified amount of resorces into cleaning up online poker and making it an even playing field for the honest players.
Personally there are to many players just like me who love online poker and only (after learning the hard way )put occasional deposits on using it as a past time and hobby(and which hobby doesnt cost ya)But for thoughs of you making regullar deposits trying to hit the big time online ,the points in this post should make you think are you just throwing your money away.
WE THE ONLINE POKER COMMUNITY SHOULD DEMAND AND FORCE THE INDUSTRY TO CLEAN UP and this brings me to another of the orriginal posters comments which is ,is online poker in a threat of decline and because of issues i post about it could quite easily happen.

Also i've played sites that are dominated bye the multi table player playing not just for profit at the table but a thing called Rackback where they get upto 50% of every hand they are involved in back at the end of the month/week sometimes playing up to 15 tables These players are treating online poker as a job and playing working hours just for the rackback alone which you can guess 12 hours a day 15 tables and 50% rakeback for every hand played =$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and also changes the odds of winning against them in many different ways like can you imagine a close call hand with a hefty pot where you have to risk your hole stack and playing against one of these players who have 50% less at steak because he gets it back at the end of the month ,i know whos favourit to call.Realizing these tatistics pushed me away from any site domminated bye the rakeback player.
Just my take on it but i think the average player who plays online poker thinking he's playing with an even chance of winning should be protected from cheats and systems of play that put you odds against before a card is dealt
Dont get me wrong i'm not against people playing 4 tables to stop the manotiny of the game when just playing one table or for to balance bad beats on his other tables but when you are playing 15 tables and hooking 4 screens up and playing just for rakeback i think it puts the average player at a disadvantage and also leaves them no where else to play due to these players playing all the tables .The truth is the poker sites love these players because they generate rake.
Its up to us the players treating it as a sport to demand restrictions and create a level playing field Thumbs Up

A very good post. Nearly nothing to add. Except ( of course ) that I love these players, sitting at 15 tables. Theyre not playing poker but running a program on everybody. Its the easiest thing in the world of poker to outplay them.
When I see somebody multitabling in that fashion, i follow him everywhere.
Okay: only if hes playing shorthanded tables i have to confess.

Thank you for youre comment and i agree that these programs are not that productive FOR NOW and as one pro told me they usually tke money off the newer players as they do have betting patterns that can be cracked but they reckon within 4 years things will be very different ! something should be done now BEFORE they have got the cash Agree
