I have to admit I had never heard of this room before I saw this report but it seems it was a bitcoin based operation.Unfortunately it appears to have run into some difficulty and has released this info for it's members.........."WE URGE ALL PLAYERS TO WITHDRAW THEIR FUNDS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. PLAYERS SHOULD CEASE ALL ACTIVITY TO THEIR ACCOUNT DEPOSIT ADDRESSSES NOW." link to release https://sealswithclubs.eu/

I had never heard of it before or seen it advertised anywhere and judging by their past security blunders I'm glad I missed them.At least they had the good grace to let players know they are closing.
Oh, I was totally unaware that this site exists at all - judging by the title alone I was expecting some enviromental or PETA remarks against clubbing baby seals to the death at the Artics. Wow, why would anybody named his site to something like this - it's both funny and sad that I associated something wrong from it.

Like klash23 said, i am glad that never heard that room before, and this just shows that in the market exist many of rooms, a lot maybe are like this, and others are a quite time to give up, but try to go and go futher and chase the happiness, without care the players or the name that they will give and stay in the community, more of this rooms not get enought strategies to get up the room properly, and after a few months, years they close, without a good or nice explanation. But is this that moves the world.

This site just sounds wrong! While some may argue it's the weak fighting back, they may be right, coz they got into your head, and no doubt the old saying, that if something looks too good to be true then it probably is probably right. Or maybe I am just missing the point!

Quite a while back, a lot of people playing on SWC made a small fortune when bitcoin boomed in a huge way, they made more money (considerably) by simply not playing poker at all.. That is about the only thing that made me wish I played on this room - it just never got enough traffic otherwise, to be worth playing.
That said, poker with bitcoins is a great idea, if a cautious one; there is a lot of security issues that could work for or against you. And fraud concerns would make it hard for a room to obtain a good license.
That said - if the licensing/regulation could be worked out - bitcoins are a fantastic way forward for online, to avoid the b******t that happened in the States with the DoJ

it is easy to spot fakes sites and all you just have to be extra careful first of all when you see new sites do not joined instantly and donate your money too them , take some time to research it if it is new there will obviously be not much to say about them but the best thing to do will be to wait for it to go online and see how it does for a few months or so or even a year or two, if you see it is till low traffic and all then you can say you doge a bullet!

At least they are giving their players the chance to withdraw their money. Not like some other sites, that they just shut down and keep everything. And if you are a small player with freeroll winnings then you can say it is ok. But if you have deposited then it is outrageous.

A very strange name for a poker site,if I owned an internet poker site I would at least have the word poker somewhere in the name. When a site loses it's trust then I think it is near impossible to get it back.lets hope everyone gets their money back.

Lot of disinformation in this thread. Except for JessTheHuman and someone else.
1) Unless a lot of traditional poker rooms (Fulltilt, pokerminds, ballpoker just to mention some advertised here) SWC did not steal any bitcoin from player balances: they are also allowing withdrawal to players whose balance is under the minimum withdrawable in normal operating conditions.
2) They closed their old site becasue of USA wills: Micon is moving to another country and it is going to reopen under a slightly different name (swcpoker instead of old sealswithclubs)
3) All VIP status gained and affiliates program achieved with "old" account may be linked to "new" account with the new site/software; only condition is to have an email associated to your account (email was optional ....you only need a username and a password to play there ...no doxing and nothing). So they will take faith to every single deal they currently have.
4) Traffic was really low if compared to the main traditional pokerrooms but being an indipendent bitcoinbased poker site it was the leading player in its market. It was also the first one and earned a solid reputation in bitcoin world.
5) With these last events, and the way they managet them (consider FBI agents went to micon's houes with guns and everything) sealswithclubs/scwpoker gained even more trust of what they already had.

agree with you klash. its like owning a car rental company and naming it Turtles Cant Fly.
@magatt, thanks for the info... that last part is a bit scary But yeah, not sure why would anyone set up their independent, online based business in US anymore really. They come up with a few nonsensical rules every day, and depending on your business, you cant really compete with already established giants either.

The ones who claim to export democracy in other countries (often, if not always, using bombs) don't let its citizens freedom to decide aboout gambling.....but ...hey...you can always sleep with a gun on your beside table

Since they treated to players nice with their shutting down by giving players warnings and the most important allowing them to cash out, along with the fact that they have magatt's endorsement (i believe so ), then why not trying the new site also.
