Yea, like that black babysitter (I am not rude, I am actually very kind person) in "Intouchables" movie. Did you see that? You had to, everybody seen it. He sold his painting for 10K or so? Man, money just lays on the street. You only need to pick it up lol

I notice that it says that a lot of his original work was sold for advertising and this is what it looks like to me.Not what I would consider any comparison to classic painters but $658,000 is not a great price in the art world and I am sure it would look nice in one of Vegas casinos.

It always amazed me how expensive paintings can get. That's where you realize money is imaginary and humanity has too much of it lol

658 000 for a painting isn't even a lot, that's the sad part. For some billionaires, that's like a penny anyways. I say for "some" because some self-made billionaires don't forget the value of cash when they have too much of it Blink

I was thinking the same as you machine, for a painting which is so well known you would expect it to do well but as you say half a million dollars is peanuts for artwork.
I saw recently that an Amedeo Modigliani painting called reclining nude sold for $170 million and it is not even a good painting....though the Chinese billionaire who bought it once spent $36 million on a rare Ming teacup. Smile
