William Hill is under siege from DDoS internet flood! A spokesman for William Hill confirmed the attack stating: "The online services of William Hill were intermittently impacted during the course of yesterday following Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) activity by third parties."

I guess that has nothing to do with the merging or not. William hill is a big site and can deal with things like this. For some companies it is just annoying i guess, since they can come up with a solution.
It can happen to the best. In another post we saw that poker stars had some also.

William Hill is down for almost 48 hours now. They having become the latest victim of DDoS attack may be just an unfortunate consequence. The severity of this incident definitely will have an effect on the decision making process of their business enterprise expansion plan in the future.

If I have to guess then no it won't. They just gonna hire a different company to mitigate their site traffic better.
